Re: (WH)WHR Rolling Stock
A quirky build Andrew, and I feel your pain re. deteriorating vision. My own went downhill in my thirties, and has kept accelerating since! It's a good job I now need to wear 'aids to vision' all the time, because I wouldn't be able to find them if I took them off!

Re: New Wholestick Cane Trucks
Aaron, The work you're doing is simply brilliant. Like many others, I've limited myself on batch building to single figures, but that's mostly kits of the Binnie/Phil Sharples variety. Doing the same scratch built in such quantity is either disciplined or masochism  I can't understand why you t...

These are some wonderful looking engines and rolling stock Ron. You may not consider them 'finescale', but they easily pass the 'six foot test' . It would be great to see some running.

Re: Photo Gallery Format Discussion
Hi Philip, I think the idea of making the thread for the gallery more accessible is one worth trying (as previously proposed by Ricky (Musket). I appreciate that the Quick Links could be used but only if you know about the use of them, and the gallery. Non members can already view the posts in the Q...

Wow Rod,
That's looking very impressive. They are certainly more 'scale looking' and can understand why you are persevering with them. Look forward to seeing the new improved version in action

Re: Garden Railway Gallery - a POLL, please read.
I have to agree with Rik. The railway inspectors visit made me consider scenarios and set up the shots I needed, and it was actually fun to do. And it has also lead me to look at setting up 'scenes' whenever I run something.

Re: Oil tankers
Nice. Is the brake gear home made Andy, or from a kit? This was a kit I bought near the start of my 'garden railway time' so 10 years plus ago. There were other 32mm gauge wagons in the range including some RN armament depot style flat wagons that I have. The brake gear was cast in the same resin l...

Re: Track recommendations
Tenmille do all the components you need to make track (as do Peco actually), but not sure how much cheaper. Ready made track from Cliff Barker is cheaper than Peco, including turnouts, and is high quality. The rail section is different to Peco though, so joining Peco to Cliff Barker can be a challen...

Re: Oil tankers
Comp2020redcolour.jpg Just an example from my collection. A bit of silliness really as I have some MOD type wagons that surface from time to time. I have three of the Swift Sixteen tankers and yes they are very heavy. I got part way through converting them from 4 wheel wagons into bogie wagons usin...

Re: Charging
Hi Rod, So long as the existing batteries are AA and not AAA, that set should suit perfectly. If the old batteries are Ni-Cd (Nickel Cadmium) that would explain the lack of charge - Ni-Cd's were notorious for developing a 'memory', where just boosting the charge rather than discharging them and then...

Re: "Patrica Anne" first run
It was a brilliant day, well afternoon at Phil's (Lonsdaler) really fantastic surroundings and a superb line that my loco went round with no issues, the only thing was, my back and legs, Phil's line is ground level mostly, luckily though "Patrica Anne" didn't give my any cause for concern...
