Re: Re:

Just wondering if this ought to be on a new thread ...... Intrigued by this circuit. A problem I've been having with simple sound circuits is overcoming a silent pause each time the sound loops back to the start. Just wondered whether this was a problem for you and how you overcame it - or whether ...

This is in a little 8k microcontroller and plays over and over though a transistor for the speaker. ) Sounds good. Any chance of a circuit diagram? Rob Sure, here's a quick sketch. http://i.imgur.com/0LhDGaC.jpg The resistor at the top is to try and limit the current/power through the speaker, and ...

I like the sound it makes, what card are you using please? The sound is a 1 second loop taken from a youtube video I liked the sound of. This is in a little 8k microcontroller and plays over and over though a transistor for the speaker. It runs off a 9v battery, with a 7805 to drop the voltage for ...

Ok, we got some track laid yesterday. It was harder than expected, then again, nothing in getting this far into the build has been easy. :P It all seems stable and quite level, running the train around it doesn't show up any nasty bumps or anything. Thanks for all the help everyone. :) ./myff/_16221...

Thank you very much for the replies. We just wanted to make sure that we were not missing anything with directly attaching track to the wall. While building the wall we used a spirit level so around that curve all should be well when it comes to running the small locos we have. The last owner of the...

Attaching track to a wall

You may have seen some rolling stock and locos we have in our possession, but we don't have a proper garden railway to run them on. D: We have some track and have built a wall to accommodate the first part of the track - a long curve. The track is Peco Setrack ST-605, 30" radius and 12 per circ...

I can remember taking a look at your Infrared Distance sensing loco, a very cool project indeed. The locos we have now however are not really big enough to fit a whole lot of electronics in though. I also like your data wagon, it's a great idea. Today I got my SOT23 breakout boards and soldered the ...

Interesting project, which AVR micro controller are you using for the speed controller ?, I've done a similar thing using the ATmega328 and am in the process of designing a simpler one using the ATtiny13. I'm using the ATTiny25 in that controller, programmed with the Arduino IDE. I recently improve...

A modified Big Big Ruston

While we haven't got a line up and running yet, my dad has been working on a Big Big train Ruston, making it more suitable for SM32 use. ./myff/_1598502/Front.JPG ./myff/_1598503/Back.JPG ./myff/_1598504/NoCover.JPG He did most of the work on this one, cutting the cab, adding seating and some detail...

The horn was made on a lathe out of brass, with a small screw and nut to hold it to the cab. The exhaust is some metal pipe and plastic bent and shaped. The little filler is also a small bit of metal shaped on a lathe.

I do hope that the HGLW expands the line-up of the budget garden railway stock. I think the design and aesthetic of the stock is fantastic. Michael's way of having the bearings slot into the side members is an excellent idea, I might try it if I decide to have some more custom stock laser cut. And t...

Busted Bricks Loco

Since I haven't seen many examples of the Busted Bricks loco about I thought I'd post a pic of ours. There are a few imperfections, but overall I think it has turned out quite well. ./myff/_1582946/FrontQuarter.JPG Click to see full size image Its got a few additions when compared to the stock kit: ...

Thanks for the reply, I decided to get two quarry axle box sets and a set of 20mm wheels from IP. We have a lathe so turning our own wheels might be a possibility. EDIT: Got the wheels and axleboxes today. ./myff/_1428139/SN151602.JPG You were sorta right about the depth problem, even with 3mm ply t...

Laser-Cut Open Wagon

Hello there, newbie to the forum here. I've been working on some rolling stock to run on a slowly progressing garden railway. I just wanted to give it a little show here. First, I made a CAD model of the wagon in Sketchup, then used an SVG exporter to get SVG layouts for the panels to be cut. Anybod...
