Re: Mamod traction engines

I have to admit I'm struggling to find one at the right price...if I don't watch them they go for the sixty mark and when I start to bid they rise to 90+. Not given up but not going to pay too much for something that is quite likely to be a flash in the pan :D

Re: Vale of Fairway

A chance trip to Gloucester market and his lordship returned with a 2 month old Land Rover, should come in handy on the estate. Still awaiting the wing mirrors but Mrs B at work so what is a man to do?

Re: Vale of Fairway

The land rover should actually run on fresh air Mr Tom. A good old Airfix Shaun the sheep model (complete with mad pigs!), they are slightly overscale but as my tummy is overscale it'll hopefully look ok. I also have the tractor and anti pesto A35 van to build at some point. A guy down the road has ...

Re: Best beginners book

Hi Mikael, welcome to the forum. There is a lot of information here and on the web but would also endorse the 16mm handbook that has a section on most aspects of the hobby and may help your "searches" for info. Never be afraid to ask a question, we all started somewhere and learned the har...

Re: Vale of Fairway

I know what you mean Derek, we have a Weeping Willow and unfortunately we can’t get around it’s flipping leaves dropping every day, but hopefully they won’t give us too much trouble….especially if the landlord will let us cut most of the branches off…..  [/quote] 20180731_110324....

Re: The Skebawn and Castleknox Light Railway and Tramway

Good to hear from you again Peter....know what you mean about holidays....it's an unusually hot summer here, I'd be happy to get hot in this country (near a railway) but Mrs B feels the need to fly somewhere warm. To be resolved!

Spiders I can live with but leaves  The wysteria has 3 seasons and four this weather...shed blossom, shed shells of blossom and shed leaves and shed leaves in hot weather.

Hoovered last Sunday but high winds forecast no point at the moment.

20180727_171714.jpg 20180727_171743.jpg 20180727_171754.jpg Quiet day avoiding summer traffic. Finished the lean to shelter, not without some mild cursing after a seat too high incident. I also managed to finish my first brake tipper wagon started last Christmas. So far back I can't remember what n...

Thanks Rod. Celebrated in style - Sally did works payroll and I wrapped six bridges and a box for Preston! (On its way at last) Managed this far on a back wall complete with a peephole carved by apprentice Ken so he can keep a crafty eye out whilst having an unofficial fag break 20180727_114654.jpg ...

Thanks for that, I never realised what a set up there was in Cardiff. That looks like a grandson visit day. :D
