Cheers Tom - my hope is that my next line will be a lot more visitor loco friendly (ie have wider clearances) so who knows you may make it to CHLRv2!

I hope the move goes well and that a new line makes an appearance as soon as you're settled back in the homeland. I look forward to the commencement of the 'Batter Pudding Special' service!

Re: Welcome to the CHLR

Hi everyone - you'll have noticed I've been a bit quiet on here recently - the reason is that we've decided to relocate back to Yorkshire (numerous family reasons) from Kent AND around the same time i was made redundant from work - add to that a mum with Alzheimers and things have been a bit hectic ...

Re: Best beginners book

Welcome aboard - totally agree with all the points above - the 16mm society handbook is great but meeting people locally via the groups is a great way to learn so much more

And I also would recommend Rik's blog - it shows how a line can develop and Rik is brilliant at explaining how he does things!

Re: Now....what should i do with this?

Agree, a really helpful article. Particularly pleased that the 16mm Assoc is prepared to publish articles showing battery powered steam outline locos. I might have a go with an article about one of my builds. Rik Rik - you definitely should - also the 16mm SMT magazine and the Garden Rail magazine ...

The low relief buildings are they kits? The main station building is certainly a Modeltown resin kit, but looking at their website they don't seem to do the low relief versions anymore? Hi - it was their wrinkly tin station kit built as two halves - the front and the back are the same so lend thems...
