Quick update - photos to follow presently. The pond at Tanyperth has been dug, and the liner went in yesterday - still needing a name. Construction of the causeway across the pond now underway. Then about 5 yards to go before the circuit is complete.

Perhaps I'm just being dumb - what links a Deanery to a Christmas carol? OK, I think we'll have to give up - here goes. The Deanery was, up to 1869, the residence of the Dean of Raphoe. Among its visitors would inevitably have been William Alexander, who was Bishop of Derry and Raphoe between 1867 ...

Well, I can only apologise that my question-setting doesn't meet with your approval, and invite you to post a question of your own as you have got the furthest to date. I had thought a more cryptic question might be enjoyed by some, and have tried offering further clues, but no takers so far - fair ...

I'm not sure, but I believe the basic series wheels are force-fit onto the axles, which might result in a little metal lifting around where the axle comes through the wheel hub. I believe this is all that is happening in your case. There's a little grub screw (which appears to fit a 1.3mm Allen key...

Re: Jinty Found-Thought Lost, info sought.

I have just un-earthed an 0 Gauge Jinty live steamer that I thought I had lost years ago after my first divorce. I remember that I never managed to get it to work properly, if at all. I have a feeling it may have been made by a company called Brunton. It is a single cylinder, slip eccentric meths f...

Sorry but 2 days of work at our railway group now has more priority.

Does it end with "The 12 days of Christmas"?

Chris Cairns.
No problem, just meant to be a bit of fun. No connection with the 12 days of Christmas.

Locomotive is DLR No.2 "E of O", owned by G R, who applied to allow alcohol to be served in their Railway refreshment room. The connection to a well known Christmas carol is obviously too subtle for me! Chris Cairns. Excellent start. The connection is tortuous! Next step is to think about...

You've got it - this is on the slipway where Titanic was built. View in the opposite direction:

There are 8 parallel lines (now just a short length of each), two down either side of each slipway.

Your turn!

This looks to be a model of carriage 1 or 2; no 2 got new door locks in preservation and now has the doors hinged on the left and handles on the right, whereas no 1 still has the hinges on the right and handles on the left. Well, I shall ring Mr. Bailey and sort out which whistle will fit my engine. I'm sure the Billy won't be much different from a Fowler or a Lady Anne in terms of installing it. The Fowler is slightly different in that the resonator is long and thin and sits on the right hand side of the boiler point...
