Now stuck it together. yes i know, its wonky, and badly made. and following the comments on the e group, i feel very inclined to stop useing my 16mm stuff. Don't worry, a lot of my stuff is wonky and badly made - at least in appearance. My Double Fairlie looks particularly rough at the moment, and...

I remember having to build 4 of them beggers with removeable roofs. I hated every second of it and never touched a carrige kit again. Best of luck though and hope they turn out all right. I know what you mean - I had a Tal-y-lin open third four wheeler from Tenmille. Firstly it was a little tall so...

I have possibly had one of those 'got to be done' moments - I was mulling over what style of coach I should build, and then it hit me - how about a rake of Pullmans!? It would probably throw the quick to build idea right out of the window but what the hell!! Now I know there probably is not much in ...

I had a little google and found a couple of sites with similar ideas. This one uses the printer for the colours, but has perhaps a little more basic look than what I am going for. http://www.aizoon.co.uk/cardboard.htm Whereas these instructions whilst I am sure would make a superb detailed coach, lo...

a) on eBay - what is says on the title means nothing! b) I use to run G scale and they look just like LGB/Bachmann wheelsets. c)Definately doesn't look O gauge. If you haven't paid yet ask the seller to check with a ruler. If you have paid, and they are 45mm, you can return them at their expense a...

Um, they don't look like O gauge to me. More like 45mm. I thought that too, and seeing as its from the US of A... I do not understand why you think this, because a) it says O gauge in the title. b) there is nothing in the pictures to show that it is anything other than O gauge. c) there is ...

Scratch building coaches.
A little winter project, but since I now have a double fairlie, I have a desire for some bogie coaches to go with it. I anticipate a rake of about five, not too long as they have to go round 2'6" curves. Might need a little thinking about, as they have to be cheap, and reasonably quick to build...

No, there was a post about the Farlie in this thread earlier today ;) That was me - misread the original post and followed the link and saw the steam countess, thought for that price he could have the fairlie plus change. Then realised my mistake so deleted the post. Must have been up for all of fi...

Steam locos will be around for some time yet - There always seems to be interest and new people coming on the scene. Its 40 years since the end of steam on BR, if there was no new blood steam would have been dead long ago. Indeed so strong is the movement we're even building new locos! As for fuel, ...

Running nicely there, well done, are you going for a Victorian Maroon  . The livery will be based on the FR railway green. Basically black superstructure with large green panels lined in red. The wheels will be black with white tyres and red coupling rods. It might anoy those who don't like ...

Put the railway up today and did some more testing. Won't break any haulage records just yet but it goes round the curves a dream! http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i126/Andrex_photos/Mamod%20Fairlie/th_FairlieFirstRun.jpg http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i126/Andrex_photos/Mamod%20Fairlie/th_Fairl...
