Re: Beck "Anna" topic

I have a very worn Merlin Midas. Very similar to Anna but an 0-6-0.

Is like to get the motion repaired.

Re: NWNG Railways No.1

Would you be able to scan in the drawings to use?

It's a lot no way to Caernarfon.

Cheers

Re: NWNG Railways No.1

How inspiring. I'm moving into scratch builing and looking to do a Pickering brake. I like the construction technique.
How is it going?

Re: Lets start a Merlin locomotive picture thread

I think Tom Cooper died quite sometime ago. I don't have all the details. I helped him out at the Imrex model railway show in London about 1987.
I have an old Merlin Midas but it's on poor shape mechanically.

Mamod upgrade

I have a couple of Mamods. One has had new wheels from PPS. One of them I got second hand as present in about 1982 so it must be an early one. The other was gift in about 1986. One is now Meths fired. The other gas. Living in Australia the Meths here seems to be better quality and burns with plenty ...

Re: WHR observation coach 2100

If you write to the FR they do issue plans.
Or they used to. I'd like them to do a book of plans for model making.

Looking for rail and chairs help

Dear All

After a long break I am returning to the hobby. I have some tenmille bullhead rail and plastic chairs but would prefer whitemetal chairs now or, I am looking for flat bottom rail. I heard this was hard to find now?

All help gratefully received.

WDLR Waggons

Perfect World doing a D as well for people with deep pockets. I had a go with Andel WD bogies and they were a disappointment. I spent some time modifying the draw gear. Partly to make them more realistic and so they would work better. In the end, they rolled well on their own but hopeless with a coa...

Recommended Lathe

Hi

I'm thinking of getting a small lathe and have been looking at Proxon. Any advice or recommendations? I'd love a Myford but don't have the space or need anything that big.

Cheers

Bogies

Hi I did get in touch with Malcom at Wrightscale. We had some parlay over how payment might be made. He now has PayPal which is a great help. Sadly, he's run out of WD bogies but he's doing some more soon in June I think. I looked at the Roundhouse bogies again. Turning them right way up is too much...

Bogies

I don't want to sound too critical, but I seem to be collecting kits from different suppliers which are not quite right.

I have now settled on buying some Wrightscale WD bogies but having sent a few emails now have yet to get a response. Are they still in business?

Cheers

Diamond Frame Bogies - Roundhouse

Hi I have some Roundhouse diamond frame bogies which were produced as a kit in the 1980s (!) which I have made up. My understanding, experience and research suggests the kit has an error in it in that the side frames, when assembled are actually upside down. This is rather an annoying error. I remem...

Ashover Help

Hi I'm still plodding on with my Ashover coach. The Andel bogies I made have a lot of friction in when the weight of the model is imposed and it does not roll well, so I'm looking at Swift Sixteen or Wrigthscale instead. Any tips? Also, Brandbright have stopped selling many product lines including t...
