Re: HGLW loco tweak

She (?) ... (James) is a real beauty and the surface finish is superb, another print masterpiece, well done Rik. I'm still not convinced about the use of sound, but if you like it, why not?

Re: What filler?

I posted a similar question just a few months ago and followed up on a suggestion from Rik and bought 'Perfect Plastic Putty'. My findings are that it does what it says on the tube! .... A smooth, one-part, fine paste which is easy to apply with a spatula. Designed for use on fine grained gaps and d...

I said from the start I'd be watching with interest, and I still am. This is looking great and will be even better with your weathering skills applied.

How about removing the nails and letting it expand to its max, then pinning it down again?

Such a shame Phil, the expansion is quite pronounced in just a few degrees of raised temperature. The summer heat is likely to create further damage.

Re: Vintage footage

A wonderfully nostalgic journey through magnificent scenery and outstanding and impressive civil engineering.
No wonder it failed, they spent too much money doing the job correctly and in some style.

Re: Time to build a railway...but where?

The VW bus is finished and runs well under test on my indoor layout. Pictures show it outdoors but the railway isn't tidy enough to even attempt a circuit. All of the RC control gear is in the rear of the model and well hidden. A black painted plasticard screen conceals everything from view through ...

Re: Early editions of 16mm Today magazines

C'mon guys, your Forum needs you! These magazines are nearly thirty years old and still in good condition. Certainly too good to throw away. They are interesting historical documents of early days of 16mm modelling and well worth reading. Will someone please offer £10.00 and I will pay the postage. ...

A truly incredible story of ambition and dedication. You can't begin to imagine how impressed I am with what you have achieved. I have read every word of your journey and, despite not understanding car mechanics, have thoroughly enjoyed every moment. I'm envious of the F-100 Pick-up model truck too.
