Photos of the first 2 wall towers in the garden (to see how they fit in situ) will follow when it stops raining!

"...stops raining"????? :sunny:
For those who are not aware, both Trevor and I live in West Wales, so we can expect the rain to stop possibly in June 2024!

This has no connection with me but I have just discovered it on eBay and thought someone here might be interested.

Re: Where to buy a horse?

I suggest you try this company... they make castings for model steam locomotives in various scales and I have used them (even visited their wonderful workshop in the West Midlands) and they are extremely helpful.

They are both interesting but I think the wooden cab loco is possibly the one I would choose to model. My list is growing longer every day!!!

Surely this loco would keep Marc awake at night?...

Re: Vinyl cut stickers

I wouldn't have the first idea how to operate the design programme, so I leave it to a friend to print mine. I now have a number of locos with vinyl lining and they look great.

Re: Vinyl cut stickers

I concur, Steve. Self adhesive vinyl used for battery powered loco lining is a great way to produce a perfect finish. I don't have a machine myself but a friend is willing and able to cut shapes to suit, even two colour lines....

Re: Time to build a railway...but where?

Thank you Rod, you are generous with your kind words (again) and I am grateful for all your support. I have no intention of holding 'workshops' as I know others are just as capable (and better) at building their own models. I work to my personal standard and that's OK for me. As you can see, I am ma...

Re: Time to build a railway...but where?

I'm never short of inspiration as I have a copy of every Emett cartoon book published. My limitation to creating more models is simply having space to store and enjoy them. They all work on my garden railway, so are quite large, this latest addition stands 240mm tall and 280mm long. One of my curren...

Philip, that DeWinton is most impressive. I have always been critical of the striations left from filament printing but your resin print is superb.

Re: Time to build a railway...but where?

Agreed Rik, I think Peter (the builder) made an excellent job of capturing the style. 100_0659.JPG This is the 'Nellie' locomotive which ran on 15" gauge, passenger carrying railway at the 1951 Festival of Britain Exhibition. It is easy to see the influence this locomotive had on Peter's model. Pete...

Re: Time to build a railway...but where?

Emett's locomotives were always different despite the same name, frequently 'Nellie', appearing on many of them. Certain features were repeated, such as the domed saddle tank and tall chimneys, but no two cartoons had identical locomotives.

Re: Time to build a railway...but where?

I have been making slow progress with the Garratt due to other things taking priority.... Return to the Emett! Emett is my passion and I couldn't resist concentrating on its return to health. In many ways I felt the need to restore this loco as it had a historic connection to me from some years ago....
