Bowaters Models - 16mm Rolling Stock Kits
After a number of people have asked if these will be available to other people, I've decided to start producing a series of kits for the 16mm Market based on the stock of the Sittingbourne and Kemsley Light Railway/Bowaters Paper Railway under a completely different identity 'Bowaters Models'. After...

Any chance of a couple for me!? Sure! Which ones would you want? After the second set of headstocks arrived today, they've been fitted and the Butterley Wagon painted to go with the Staff Coach. Plus since it was not raining/snowing today, I went outside to get a couple of photographs of them both ...

Is that the Australian version of vale of ffestiniog in the left of the picture? Nope, its what's left of my Locolines VoF that couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding. Also its the wrong gauge to run with the rest of my stock now. Those look great! Did you send your CAD drawings to be 3D-printed...

Hi Jon, Yes that was me... I have the drawings for the pulp wagons and a friend built the chassis for me... They're a simple design that there aren't really that many of about in our scale... Let me know if you want the drawings and how you get on! Hi Laurence, Thanks for that. I've also got a set ...

Thanks for all the comments. Laurence, were you the one with the article in Garden Rail? As its that article that got me thinking about it in the first place :) I've spent today drawing them up using my normal CAD software (which is normally used for much smaller models in 4mm:ft) and come up this. ...

Cheers for the nice comments! Unfortunately since the last post, the MSS engine has been sold as it just wasn't living up to expectations and with a paycut (new car etc etc) on the horizon, I got shot of it. That said, after a post on this very forum, I've been able to acquire a second Accucraft Lea...

Extension time!
Well after some time, and finally getting agreement on the matter, the line has been extended in two key areas. The main station area and the running line. https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2946/15428131055_ac5f869c72_c.jpg The new main station area The station area has been doubled in length with the ...

Just to bring this upto date, time for some shots of the completed line in use over the last couple of weeks. With the bulk of the hard work now done and enough stock from accucraft to work trains, the main job is sorting out No.3 (aka the MSS engine) then working on some more specialist stock such ...

I am a newcomer too to the steam locomotives world, my MSS , fortunately, since the beginning had no troubles at all to steam up. Only the wheels have the same problems of yours, i can run the loco safely only at low speed. Is is my intention to replace the wheels, is it a ddifficult job? Hi, It wa...

Slaters Prince Kit
Afternoon all,
Anyone built one of these kits and if so, how easy are they to put together? I'm considering one to pull a FR train on my line.
Cheers,
Jon

Thanks for the suggestions so far. Definately food for thought. I've put the engine on a flat surface and it wobbles enough to say the wheels are buggered. When running over the points, it would get into the vee then either wedge or it would physically lift the engine out the point and off the railw...

After a few days running, I'm starting to get a number of problems. 1. Rate of steaming. With the original tablet burner it was terrible and its n...
