Re: GRS Hunslet loco kit with rtr chassis SOLD

Hi
The kit is still available - here is a picture of the Timpdon r/c gear to go with it. I love these little transmitter units - so much neater and smaller than the standard model aircraft type r/c transmitters!

Re: GRS Hunslet loco kit with rtr chassis

I can't see any noticeable distortion in any of the body components - perhaps you had a poor sample or I have an unusually good one! The build article mentioned some warping of the footplate component. I haven't unwrapped this in my kit but from external examination it looks fine. In any case you ca...

Re: GRS Hunslet loco kit with rtr chassis

GRS chassis.jpg GRS body.jpg Just checked and the instructions say it's a resin body kit which looks straightforward enough. The article was in Garden Rail No 207 and GRS have thoughtfully provided a copy with the kit. With luck I'll have included some pics with this post. I was impressed with the ...

Hi Phil
Yes and yes! Still available and the saddle tank is preformed plastic - injection moulded I guess.

Re: GRS Hunslet loco kit with rtr chassis

I guess people aren't so keen on building kits these days with so much relatively inexpensive rtr on the market. There was a build article in Garden Rail a few years ago and the writer had made a lovely job of it. My interests have changed and sadly I haven't the time/motivation to spend on this pro...

Re: GRS Hunslet loco kit with rtr chassis

Just came across the Timpdon r/c set up I was going to fit in the loco when I originally planned the project. Includes everything you need. Happy to include this with the loco and chassis above as I'm having a clear out!

Re: O Gauge track for 16mm?

https://peco-uk.com/products/standard-curve-1st-radius [/quote] The Peco track is a diameter of less than 30 inches (centre to centre) so you 48 inch space would leave around 9 inch each side from the centre of the track, I would think that would give you lots of clearance. Sad to note that Trackshack have closed down. Due to personal reasons as I understand it. An excellent retailer who provided superb customer service. They will be missed.

GRS 32mm gauge diesel and tippers

I've seen an advert for what looks like a very affordable little battery powered rtr diesel from GRS priced at £299 including four tipper trucks. Does anyone have any more info on this?

GRS do rtr chassis in 32mm as well as 45mm and coming from O gauge 7mm scale I have to say that the GRS 32mm chassis seems reasonably priced and looks OK. Worth a punt in my opinion!

Hi! I've got the cabbed version to build when I get the time. The kit seems fairly straightforward but I suspect it will take a bit of work and upgrading of parts to get a really good result as some parts are a little crude. As far as fitting batteries and r/c are concerned you'll be on your own as ...

Fixing track

Hi what's the best way to fix track to a wooden base - screws or nails? I used screws and plugs on the concrete section but the raised section is on timber planks. Thanks

Ford Sierra Beige is what I used on some BR coaches. Still readily available AFAIK.
