Alan, As I mentioned on 31st March I'm abroad, and you've posted the plates a week later by ordinary mail rather than by a trackable means on  as you'd suggested they would be. Nevertheless I've checked they have arrived, though I haven't of course seen them. I'm sure they are very good (and I wond...

Ian, Have you received your nameplates and loco-parts yet? Items were posted via Royal Mail first class delivery on the 6/04/2010. I enclosed the set of Loco buffer beams too. If you are still after the Baguley worksplates too I have those in stock. Regarding the customer who was supposedly waiting ...

In the end I just installed micro dpdt toggle switches on a control panel in the cab, that way I can switch lights on/off as required. If I have a train behind the loco, i can switch off the tail lamp and just run with a headlamp.

Salem loco? I've heard of them but would appreciate a picture! Here you go! I've got some photos of the loco as purchased http://alan-briggs.fotopic.net/c1628395.html I've removed the huge overhanging running plate from the front, and brought the bufferbeams in, front and back, so there's a little ...

This week I have mostly been making... ...Nameplates! And whilst the CNC machine cnc's, and the paint dries, I've been mamodifying an old Salem Loco and a Mike Chaney Kitten! Salem loco is now gas fired, shorter, new couplings, new bufferbeams, some new detail parts, spectacle rings, cab steps etc. ...

If anyone likes me & thinks I'm human speak now!!! Hi! Don't worry IT'S NOT YOU - railway enthusiasts are treated with derision world over. As far as the Model shops, they are going, it's just the way it is, lost three local ones here. People just don't make things anymore, it's all ready built...

With a title like THAT, you're asking for someone to tell you where to stuff it! Seriously though, you could do worse than adopt the Roundhouse approach - make a cab roof ventilation panel with a small spade tag soldered to the underside. Put a large hole in the cab roof (so there's no chance of th...

Now then MDLR, I wish I had thought of that when building my IP Jack!! Instead, I made a new roof vent out of Plastikard, then coiled the antenna underneath, then fitted the vent with those sticky fixers. I am loving the control pannel though, its fantastic!! I slipped a bit of heatshink tube over ...

What do I do with my antenna?

I've got an IP Engineering Jessie, and am fitting RCS R/C to it. I've actually remade the frames, added some more frame spacers to allow a geared motor and bevel drive to be fitted. Also fitted a rather fetching walace and gromit inspired console in the cab for running and charging lights and some s...

Charging socket circuit diagram for battery loco?

I'm thinking about fitting a charging socket to my IP Jessie and have the socket fitted in the cab. I'd like the socket to break the circuit and just charge the battery without having to remember to switch the loco off first. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this? Also what would be the best pl...

I think I'll just use the RC channel to operate a relay and then use miniature switches to individually switch the lights on the loco. Something else to play with in the cab too then!

Directional Lighting for R/C Battery Locos

Does anyone have an article or website link regarding fitting directional lighting to a r/c controlled Battery Loco? It's an IP Jessie that I've fitted an RCS System to. I might just fit a couple of centre off toggle switches in the cab, so I can switch the lights independantly if there is a train b...

Hi, Just a quick note, regarding your headboard PTLRCecil, the initial order was for the headboard, the bracket you were after wasn't a standard item I produce, as it was to be a one-off cnc'd part it'd take a little while to design it, draw up the tool paths, machine one, fabricate it to fit your l...

I've got a couple of Tenmille Kits, some of the plywood parts were a bit ropey, plus the instructions were non existent. They are rather nice though, sprung chassis too on the ones I bought. The etched parts are really nice, brake detail etc, good white metal castings too. If built properly they wil...
