Re: Boiler Certificates part 2

From my brief time of playing with 3.5" gauge the two sources of water into the boiler is a must but they aren't required for our little ones although many coal burners tend to have more than one water feed...
Usually via a Axle Pump, hand pump, steam pump and/or injector(s) for the bigger stuff.

Re: Boiler Certificates part 2

At present there is not much point in addressing issues with the current code etc as it's going to be replaced soon anyway for the better. Re: Boiler Certificates part 2

Also Just to clear up a few things, I asked for a bit of clarification on this from one of the chaps who's been dealing with this from the association's side of things: This post starts by asserting that the Association 16mm of 16mm Narrow Gauge Modellers has not done enough to stop MELG and the Fed...

Re: Boiler Certificates part 2

someone needs to check the terms and conditions relating to public liability cover. I don't think it is sufficient to say just because you are a 16mm member you automatically have unconditional cover. Knowing insurance companies, this seems extremely unlikely. I note the following from the 16mm web...

Re: Without a paddle...

So the three modules went to Peterborough and came away with a MOTY Class winning trophy... Unfortunately I didn't get chance to take photos but I did manage to run a train over them... Very satisfying feeling... Their next outing will be the Giant Miniature Gala at Statfold Barn before the G scale ...

Re: Peterborough

If you're planning on having a group photo then I'd suggest either outside the Atrium near the Driver for a Fiver or in front of one of the massive doors inside the main hall... the one furthest from the atrium is probably best. I won't be able to join in as I'll be busy organising and running the ...

As long as you have the original Certificate and have done your annual steam test and have public liability insurance or an active 16mm membership (Cause they're the same) then I have no problem with it. (btw that's me speaking as Show Director) As for running on a layout, an email to one of the lay...

On the station wall of the Rhyl Miniature Railway in North wales, is a quote from Wenman Joseph Basset Lowke that says: Those who take miniature railways too seriously, run the risk of missing the point. Albeit a different scale altogether but I think that fits in with the hobby on every scale and g...
