Re: Time to build a railway...but where?

A bit of a shameless plug Peter but given your new and enhanced industrial direction; have you looked at some of the bits I make at Harecroft?

Re: Time to build a railway...but where?

Just as an aside to the shell topic; Harecroft (www.harecroft.co.uk) and SLR Models (https://slrmodels.co.uk/) both sell 15 inch Howitzer shells and the smaller, more common, 9.2 inch shells.

Re: IP MoD wagon sizes

Re: Good Beginners Rolling stock

A bit of a blatant plug but why not have a look at Harecroft for some simple to build kits? All are scale, prototypical wagons with non-obtrusive tabbing (meaning no filling) and although they have a lot of detail parts, you can put on as many or as few as you please. I would recommend any of the ra...

Re: Personalised Wagons

Thanks Mark! Hope you enjoy the wagons! And yes, I am more than happy to produce them with lettering for your railway at no extra cost. I always have a stock of the "Birkhill Clay Mine" ones and obviously I now have "CHLR" on file.

Re: Portable turntable - North Ings Farm Museum

I have a Colin Edmondson designed one for 9 1/2" gauge. I'll try and find a photo of my Lister loco on it.

The station area looks stunning! Do you have any photographs of your dry stone wall at all? I am looking to put one in my station area and would be interested to see how it was done/made! :D

Those look stunning Andrew! Now we have our own laser cutter running (I think I first mentioned it when we got it over a year ago so it shows how long we have taken with it), I will certainly be keen to have a go at cutting one. I am currently experimenting with engraving settings, seeing if I can d...

Peter, going back to the different wheels comment, I know a locomotive which has both spoked and disk driving wheels.

Loving the station area and your very fast progress! For what we have built so far of our line, we have used a similar method to you with the filcris but instead of filcris slabs, we have used heavy timber, largely because of apples falling in the summer. Off topic to the railway itself, but I notic...

I am afraid supply was the nature of his problems. I am lucky enough to have known Andy well enough to get my goods in the end and hear the full story.
Very sad loss to the hobby.

The FR is by no means my prime interest but as a result, I have now got many more ideas for mamod bashing and have ideas for an open quarrymen's coach in the same style but hey ho, its no agricultural tramway. Brilliant publication.
