My idea has the steam pipe going under the boiler to, thus being heated by the flames. But an upgrade boiler would logically be better I suppose :), It is worth thinking over as using mostly bought parts means that in practice the loco would be easier to make, therefore it is actually a realistic go...

Steaming up

Quick question guys, with a standard Mamod boiler (the one with a plastic water gauge, of course), Can you use the high pressure safty valve, and kind of leave it to steam up until it goes off? I see lot's of videos on youtube of steamin' safety valve's, so I was just wondering.

I'm definitely no expert on this topic, but Personally I wouldn't use paint like that, It's easy to get heat proof/ and or automotive paint from car shops you know. Unless of course you have considered this beforehand but do not wish to take that route. Id recommend the car stuff though.

Loose wheel

Hi guys, It's me again but this time My problem is a little different. After succesfull painting, baking, and re-assembling my Mamod I noticed that the left front wheel is slipping (lose) on its axle. This prevents it from running. Does anyone know anything about tightening these?
