Cool, cheers guys.

I'll give the silicone a try first but if that proves fruitless I'll ask a friend with a pillar drill to take a look at it.

Cheers chaps.

Fixing things to the smoke box.

Hi guys

Long time no see!

One I would like to do is add a lamp iron to the smokebox of my Lady Anne (as well as other bits around her). As I'm a bit apprehensive with drilling holes in her I was considering using silicone or epoxy. Would this be okay and if so what type would you suggest?

cheers for the advice chaps.

At the moment there seems to be little shortage of water where I currently am.

I think it was something to do with the fan motor in the end as I took it back to Argos under guarantee and the replacement as a free rolling fan where as the other one was quite stiff.

I might try that, however I ended up buying another in Argos for just under £100 and this one appeared to be better and took in alot of water. However, tonight when I went to turn it on... the fan doesn't appear to be spinning. I only bought it Sunday, as well! I'm not having much fun with these thi...

The filter is right at the top and I darn't take it apart. It's not leaking anything (not even water) and blasting out cold air. I know recently that we have had a really cold spell but the house I live it is quite warm. I managed to clean out the filter with the hoover again and I'm trying it out a...

dehumidifier problems

I while back I bought a Challenger Dehumidifier I bought for collecting water for my loco. It worked for about two months and then suddenly stopped collecting water, as the warranty looked a bit dodgy I bought another one and exactly the same thing happened to it. As any had any similar problems? I ...

Okay so after 8 months I've now finally come to the end of the first chapter of 16mm scale modelling. With this, my new brake van. ./myff/1620935/DSCF6167.JPG ./myff/1620936/DSCF6174.JPG It is a modified IP Engineering kit with saftey chains, handrails, foot boards and a furnished interior built fro...

My next set of wagons I plan to run at least one empty.

Geez! Thanks guys  Live steam maybe a bit of a learning curve for me but I'm pretty much at home here with this who model building thing. However... the train is not yet complete (for the moment) I shall offer you some tantalising images of my next 16mm project before I revert back some some 4...

Degreasing an engine

Okay so now after now four months of running Jemima in, it looks like soon I maybe updating her a bit. I have got some trimline to line her out in red and white but as it is an adhesive tape I suspect that the oil and grease from running will attack it and before long cause some problem. What do you...

I got me some years ago but the rc came with some pre packed one and I've been using them since march.

I'm gonna see what they do over the weekend.

RC issues

I'm hoping that this is just battery life as the loco have previous no issues with radio control. I steamed her up for the firs time in about a week and a half and intially she was running fine, save a little bit of priming I've come to expect after a prolonged period of non-running. However, once I...

I think I might remove a little more than 30ml of water from the boiler next time, when I do light her up I can find when she steams up there is a fair bit of water on the roof. Afterwards it isn't a problem. Anyway, no offence taken Keith S, I think the reason I say she's grumpy is just a personifi...

I've been very quiet on the internet lately, so much so that I'm not even updated the weekly blog I promised to do. I'm going to review that situation and make a decision on it s future as a weekly effort was getting a little on top of me. Maybe monthly instead? Anyway.... I've managed to finish off...

Hi chaps In all honesty the instructions was the first thing I read once I received her and it was what I read for the three weeks prior to steaming her up. The time she primed badly and shut herself off was one off and this has never happened since, she also light first time too. Plus, only a small...
