Re: Hunslet Hughie

Steve, I may have missed it, but have you ever explained and shown how the paper lining is achieved? I would be interested to know. Sorry for the delay, things have been a tad busy this way for a while. I did include the papering part back in my Secundus build. Here it is, found it. https://gardenr...

Re: Hunslet Hughie

I can find a 280 and a 385 MFA motor. Just wondered which one you used and which voltage. A 285 would be a 5 pole version of a 280 motor. MFA Como don't sell them, but they do sell a RE280/5, which is the 6v version of their RE280. I assume Steve chose the 6V motor as it would be a tight squeeze to...

The motor is a 285 MFA motor, gears are nylon with 3mm axles...... Hi Steve I can find a 280 and a 385 MFA motor. Just wondered which one you used and which voltage. I've not yet got around to seriously making my own chassis (apart from a couple with were based on LGB and Bachmann motor blocks) but...

Re: Hunslet Hughie

Oooooooooh! That's s'nice! :thumbleft: :thumbright: Is it your own motor-block and motion, as well? Phil.P The motor is a 285 MFA motor, gears are nylon with 3mm axles. Motion is all printed and designed by me. Everything was done in Tinkercad except the flanges of the steam dome and chimney which ...

Re: Me or is it Hughie?

A quick test run, "not really made for the public" as such, more of a record that it actually worked at some point  The line was actually in need of a sweep, hence it was just up and down.

Re: Me or is it Hughie?

Sorry, it's been a bit slack on this thread. So, a long way down the line, after many hours (weeks!) of busy busy with one thing and another, I managed to find some time in between to make progress on this. No build shots I am afraid, but here it is, from paper, to CAD, to working model  Th...

Re: Print splitting

I am assuming you are using Chitubox for the slicer? If not, why not  If so, add auto support and it will be on a raft which I have never had a print split, as normal, you may need to tilt the piece to achieve perfection and maybe add n some extra manual supports if need be.

Re: Resin printers flexible build plates

Does anyone have any experience with using flexible magnetic steel build plates on resin printers, such as this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dabey-Flexible-Magnetic-Adhesive-Compatible/dp/B09YTHXKD3/ref=sr_1_9?crid=3TWANZ73PVBLO&keywords=resin+printer+flexible+build+plate&qid=1670838598&sprefix=resin+...

Re: Resin components left outdoors

I am currently using an own brand "ABS like" resin from Technologyoutlet.co.uk which seems to work well. Just tried to find it but doesn't appear to be on their site? There are several own brand resins but none described as "ABS like". Amazon do a "like ABS" resin as I have previously used it. I do...

Re: SQL Errors

Following some "quick" research, it would appear that this is very likely to be a "timeout" issue. This is possible to be at the user end (as mentioned above), but it could be the server end if the server is very busy from other users (different forums etc using the same system). If it isn't a user ...

SQL Errors

It has been reported that a number of members, but not all, are repeatedly getting an SQL error when trying to make a post. Whilst we look into this, I would recommend copying all the words you have typed in case you need to type it all again. For those that aren't aware, on a windows based computer...

Re: Me or is it Hughie?

A little update, I think that's the bulk of the CAD work done, just the printing and then redoing the CAD work and then repeating cycle begins.

Thanks Dave W for the pictures, very helpful

Re: DHR B-Class project (Mainly 3d printed)

I only ever have over adhesion issues if I try to take the print off before it has cooled thoroughly. How long are you leaving it before removing the print after it's finished?
