Wow, excellent to see this project going forward, I remember when this first appeared on here, as the first member to go for coal firing! Good to see the project isn't dead, and hopefully drawing towards a conclusion. The result you've achieved is certainly different to what I thought it would be a...

Excellent effort and thanks for sharing. I am interested in how easy it is going to be for you to tend the fire with the cab on (you did mention it can be easily removed). Please keep us updated on progress. The firing was something I was a bit concerned about too, especially with such a "clos...

Re: Coal fired Project based on DJB boiler kit/ Edrig chassi

This is looking excellent. Looking forward to seeing some photos of where you fit the R/C. Thank you kandnwlr, when the radio is installed I will take a photo of the installation for you. I will be fitting a platform above the regulator housing which will hold the servos for the regulator and the b...

Coal fired Project based on DJB boiler kit/Edrig chassis

I haven't been here for a long while, but I thought I would just post an update of my coal fired project. I got the DJB Cedrig boiler kit a few years ago and an Accucraft Edrig chassis. I spent ages trying to find a suitable British prototype loco to base it on, but none seemed to fit my needs. I ne...

I think I must have been born with it contaminating my blood ! My father had been a draughtsman for Kerr Stuart (did the drawings for a couple of loco's at Bowaters and the fireless loco), Hunslet, Bagnall + Sentinal Wagon Works. I can remember him showing me the blueprints for the Radstock shunter,...

Thats a neat piece of kit you have there ! I saw someone flying something similar earlier this year at a kite festival in the south of Jutland, watching him operate it was facinating. Oooo and I noticed this morning that we are still here ! :D

Martin's Models have "AutoSIGNALS™" colour light signals listed on the website. I don't know what they are like, or what they cost but it maybe worth contacting Martin.

Accucraft adjustable lubricator.

I have been rather concerned about the oil consumption on my Accucraft Mogul which is fitted with the new adjustable lubricator. Accucraft recommend opening the adjusment valve by approx 2 turns. However even with the valve fully open, after a 1 hour run there would only be approx 3 or 4 droplets of...

Re: Accucraft Lyn

Does anybody here own one and how do they perform? I would love to see a size comparison with the Roundhouse lady Anne if anybody has a picture please. Thanks. I have had a "Lyn" loco for the past 4 years, and am very pleased with it. It pulls very well, my railway has a fairly long 1 in ...

Stuart models also advertise that they sell the Cheddar burners, jets, tanks and fittings, after all they overtook the Cheddar name, although I am disappointed to see that they still haven't re-introduced any of the range of Cheddar loco's apart from "Iver".

As far as I can find out, an electronic version is in the planning stages.
That would be the solution, except it is not so convenient with an electronic version, not so easy to balance a laptop on ones knees whilst in the bathroom
