Accucraft Lawley
Long time no post. In the absence I acquired a Roundhouse Atlantic, had a treacherous relationship with it involving a trip to Doncaster for a professional respray, and then in the end sold it on. In its place for 'heavy hauler' I have acquired a very nice Accucraft Lawley. I have already replaced t...

Re: Accucraft Lawley
Yes, they are very nice locos indeed. I only regret not buying one in autumn 2018, instead opting for the cursed Atlantic of which I have now sold on. Another shame is that someone keeps buying them up and repainting them into ridiculous liveries - bright yellow comes to mind. I am hoping to find a ...

Accucraft Lawley
Good afternoon, I'm looking to purchase an Acccuraft Lawley 0-6-0T. https://www.accucraft.uk.com/products/lawley-freelance-live-steam-0-6-0t/ It must be in the Accy GWR Green, unmodified, paintwork untouched [ie no varnish, but transfers can be discussed] and if it is RC that would be an advantage [...

Re: eBay madness
Amazing how some paint makes it cost significantly more than a new one! https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F264150172509 I'd guess he is trying to recoup at least some of the money he laid out to have it weathered. Not criticising the paint job, it loo...

Re: Roundhouse Jennie
Thank you Tomtom, I was not certainly having a go. Jennie looks an ace little engine and something unique in the RH stable. When lined out [I have seen Tallyho green, BR Black, maroon and straw] they look stunning . Whoever buys one will be proud owners indeed. As for Accucraft, it's a coin toss. Ye...

Re: Roundhouse Jennie
I think she is a beauty….Why do people have to be rivet counters. So what if she looks to some like she has just been cobbled together. RH do excellent in my opinion. I've spoken some reservations about the cab height, but I do not for one moment believe it looks "cobbled together". It's ...

Re: Roundhouse Jennie
A Complete 'Jennie' is £750, but RH will sell just the loco minus tender for £650. Tender is then £110 on its own.

Re: Roundhouse Atlantic - rare find
Thanks Keith The Argylls did have spoked wheels, but the later Atlantics are solid wheeled. However, the Atlantic have fully sprung chassises, so I can't complain

Re: Roundhouse Atlantic - rare find
Thanks guys. It's been a pleasure to run and getting used to the RC is quite something. However next year I think I'll change the handset and rx for something much more convenient

Re: Roundhouse Atlantic - rare find
Thanks Peter. Think I said in the story, but to clarify, the £850 was the price the messy one went for on Ebay finally via a sneaky bid [not me]. The 'barn find' temporarily christened "Thorfinn" cost double that and a bit but given the books, starter kit, rolling road skates I picked up, ...

Roundhouse Atlantic - rare find
For a while now I have been dependant on two locos as the third has once again been put out of order due to a trader error. A chance find on Ebay saw this arise a few weeks ago: https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/hLkAAOSwHwNbkWR1/s-l1600.jpg An idle ask informed me offerwise that offers for over £950 ha...

Re: Roundhouse Jennie
They are lovely looking and as RH Locos, I trust they run well? :) I was tempted by one. As-is though, the cab seems a little large?. However, it's like my stick re the Lady Annes - not so sure of the aesthetics but can totally respect that mechanically they're great. Same applies here. But, I suspe...

Re: New locos from Roundhouse & Accucraft Sept 18
Accucraft with TALGARTH and SABRINA only had CAD design drawings, whereas RH had a fully working model of JENNIE to show [and play with]. A binus was that JENNIE and its tender was in the same maroon as the display Bertie, allowing one to match the tender up and take a look. The tender, which will b...

Re: Lymes Disease
Interesting Phil. Late May Bank Holiday I was at Kingsbury and got bit on my left arm. I was left with a red rash that became very hot, burning even a few days later [but NOT targetlike. Red, growing and even grew outward in a little tail until I was given some antibiotics by my doctor. I did some ...

If it's the same chassis as a Boulton, it'll be a good one. Hook it up with a repainted Newqida coach or scale-modded Upwell Wisbech coach...
