Re: Brandbright Panelled Coaches

That's an impressive first post. I'm particularly susceptible as I plan to mainline on Brandbright 4/6 wheel stock for my passenger coaches for my [new] line. I've been having a hard think about colours and liveries - yours (IMHO) works well and I like the way you've made the lining work. I'm thinki...

Re: Wagon Works (Distraction no. 2)

Awesome, can't wait to see the videos! I do like the ground level shots with plenty of depth of field, always adds to the realistic effect. Grant. I won't post the You Tube links (yet?) Is "yet" over yet?  As mentioned in my recent posts, I've been having some IT issues and cur...

Char Valley Railway You Tube

Further to discussion over on my 'Distraction no. 2' thread about camera wagons, driver's eye views and 'The General' style train chases, this is the You Tube channel of a member of the East Devon 16mm group: https://www.youtube.com/@CharValleyRailway/videos - some of this footage was playing at Exe...

Re: Wagon Works (Distraction no. 2)

Best thing to do is try and use a free editing software, something like Kinemaster. While you'd have a watermark you could at least edit out any parts that the other members who were there running wouldn't like to be on YouTube. Windows computers have the ClipChamp app which is free to use or you c...

Re: low relief buildings - sale agreed

Simon posted a response a couple of hours ago but it appears stuck in the outbox again. To ensure you get the message I can put it here also. I have transferred the money to you and it is the 16mm modular layout. Thanks again. Regards Dave Thanks Dave. I've been getting your PMs OK (though as I use...

They both look great. I was sorry to hear about AWNUTS. As someone who dreams about building a layout based on the Magic Roundabout train, I reckon I might have fitted in. And Mr B's Emett collection - :salute: ...

Re: Wagon Works (Distraction no. 2)

I've spent the last hour or so trying to get it to play nicely but no luck. (If anyone has any ideas, please say). Are the gears playing up or is it to do with the wheels and motion? Rik It's You Tube's IT. I want to 'clip' or edit the videos shot so they don't show details of houses and/...

I won't post the You Tube links (yet?) Is "yet" over yet?  Not at the moment I'm afraid. I hadn't forgotten but some of the others present aren't too keen on certain frames being shown. I thought I had found a way round that earlier this week by using You Tube's clipping option...

Re: low relief buildings

Yes, I tried putting two back to back last night and they looked OK. If anyone wants to take that option without buying all seven, say, I don't mind having a look and trying to ID which two/four go together best, thinking re colour and joins. You would need to seal the joins thoroughly of course but...

low relief buildings - now sold, thanks

Six low/half (?) relief cottages and a shop. I was given these a little while ago but they won't fit on my shunting plank (Distraction no. 1) and being low relief, aren't suitable for outside. I am unsure of their origin but presume they are someone's resin kits, possibly ModelTown? Some interior de...

Re: Here's the land for the future railroad

Hmmm. Doesn't look much like a goose fair to me! One I went to recently had live geese and horses, archery, quintains and sack/pillow fighting on a pole for the children. Though admission was not compulsory on wearing ye olde apparel and the food included pizzas and hot dogs. No pottage or 'turnip s...

Re: Wagon Works (Distraction no. 2)

One idea I had was to do something a bit different - reverse the direction of travel and get another group member to drive a train behind me, to get some footage of a train from a train. It took a little practice but this gave some interesting angles. AVR1.png AVR2.png Anyone for a remake of 'The Ge...

I won't post the You Tube links (yet?) but took a few screengrabs:

I coupled the wagon to a battery 'diesel' loco and ran this as smoothly and steadily as possible round the line. This shot is coming 'off shed'.

And then further round the line.

Wagon Works (Distraction no. 2)

At the moment, time (and tide) is against me getting on with the bigger projects. Instead, I have to snatch an hour or two here and there when I can. I've been to some of the local area group meets and there's been talk of filming some of the lines and doing pieces on specific issues for YouTube and...

Not necessarily - someone in our local area group has a NGG16 and they manage. It helps having a special carrying cradle though.

Re: It's a Sign!

Hi all, I think I mentioned that I fancied painting some more railway-style signs? These are based on carriage and locomotive numbers, and were a test run on some scrap wood, with the idea that I'd use this style for some friend's door numbers. I think they're actually a bit ornate for that, but I ...
