Balloon loop points
Hi All The FeckHallBahn will be moving (as will we!) in the new year and I want the new layout to feature a pair of reverse loops. I'm sticking with G 45 track - too expensive to change everything! My question. Is there a non-electric point mechanism that would allow trailing points to stay securely...

Hi
Where can I buy new, or certified second hand, gas tanks for Accucraft locos? Specifically a Leader and a Caradoc.
Cheers

4Kam - Railcam
Could do with some advice please. I ordered a Railcam in February which never arrived. Got a refund, ordered another in March which hasn’t arrived yet. My problem is that my emails are not being answered and I don’t know what’s happening - any help on what to do next would be greatly appreciated. Th...

Everything on the FeckHallBahn wobbles…
I’d never thought about that before, but it all 3 of my LGB steam outline locos have a single traction tyre. Weird…

My Mamod Quarry - Update
The Taming of Gerhilde - manual control live steam Mamod Quarry Loco https://youtu.be/hqqafH9EMuA It appears that threats can work on steam engines!!! Both train engines are controlled by a Piko key fob. The GE switcher has 4 traction tyres and is fitted with some sort of safety cutout if it stalls,...

Re: Mamod Quarry - The saga continues…
Thank you loads.
I am definitely leaning towards a geared loco although my Billy, Leader and Caradoc are all fine.
It’s had 3 hours of running time on the rails and 40 minutes on blocks. It’s covered just over 1,000 yards actually moving.

Mamod Quarry - The saga continues…
I need to make a decision - this forum is a good place to ask advice. My Mamod Quarry is just about unmanageable as a manual loco on the FeckHallBahn - give it enough regulator to get up the inclines and it does an excellent impression of Mallard on the flat bits with inevitable off roading on the R...

Re: Mamod Quarry loco - hellllp!!
Thanks Chris It’s back with them again now. Steam chest on the left pouring steam out at any psi >20. I suspect there’s a warped or inaccurately machined surface in there somewhere. One piston rod gland came out mid run. The thing that baffles me is that it was fine on blocks but as soon as it was o...

Mamod Quarry loco - hellllp!!
Welcome Wednesday - Take Two (of ???) https://youtu.be/76u9lNIiIEc The fabulous team at Mamod received my broken (by me) brand new quarry loco on Monday repaired it and turned the wheel centres down to give me deeper flanges so that it wouldn’t bounce off on my LGB point frogs, as they did for my Bo...

Mamod Brunel
Hello Group
I’m quite tempted by a Mamod Brunel. Is there anyone with experience of fitting directional RC to one? The FeckHallBahn is ground level and not a loop; I need to be able to stop (and preferably reverse) trains remotely at the far end of the line.
Thanks in advance
Nigel.

Re: LGB rail attachment
Ha! It’s smack in the middle of two flexible track sections and also smack in the middle of a granite slab! I can live with it; it doesn’t cause any problems. Just looks messy. We had literally just had the (tiny) garden extensively remodelled and landscaped to what we’d wanted for 20 years when I w...

Re: LGB rail attachment
It would, but there isn’t room. It’s not a massive problem though, it’s only a headshunt extension and at the end of a baseboard. The track is floating nicely on ballast and I’ll reconfigure the station when I replace the plank it’s sitting on. image.jpg I had to take the main line lot out again thi...

They’re soaked in yacht varnish, hopefully that will do the job.
