Greetings,
Only three members of the B class were named during independent days. Those were 42B, 43B, and 44B as Tindharia, Kurseong, and Darjeeling respectively. The names were painted in an arc over the works plates on the cab/bunker sides. Their ISR numbers are 795-797.
Best regards,
Paul

Richard, I think most liners prefer Humbrol enamel thinned with lighter fluid or something similar for their work. When I was in the U.K. last spring, I bought a Peter Spoerer Lining Pen which I have shamefully not put to use as yet. One of my traveling companions has employed his pen and had good r...

Tom Rolt was really toward the small end of what Roundhouse can produce using standard components like burner size and flue size, cylinders, valve gear, etc. I would expect to see something fairly chunky, outside framed, and likely a tank loco. Snailbeach Railway's Dennis comes to mind as a possibil...

Mike Chaney Mamod Cylinders
Has anyone dismantled a pair of Mike's Mamod cylinders of overhaul? I believe the ends are press fit, but I don't have as clear an idea about pulling the glands apart for new rings.
Thanks,
Paul

Right around 2000, Roundhouse changed from cast cylinder blanks to CNC machined blanks. I have a Millie from 2000 (bought in January as new, old stock) that has cast cylinders and the rectangular valve chests. Incidentally, this loco put in a run time of 1 hour, 20 minutes during its running in peri...

As the etched numbers imply, the grey model is representing 41B circa 1945. With the defrocking of Jervis Bay to revert to 28B in grey, 30B, 41B, and 47B were all repainted grey to haul the Mail comprised of Jimmy Shaw's new streamlined coaches. As far as a reasonably accurate interpretation in conc...

NVBS Members?
Is anyone on the forum an NVBS member. If so, please message me. I have a question about acquiring a book from the NVBS shop.
Thanks and regards,
