Re: Mamod Brunel Modifications
Compiled the various modifications and videos into one here. Recently bought a few different size gas jets so shall see if I can improve burner performance - it's not burning right still.

Excellent work Ian! Look forward to seeing the progress - I may have missed it in my quick skim read but are you adding a reverse gear too?
How are you getting on with your steam launch?

Re: The Development of the WLR
Found that by sending the photos in a message to myself on Facebook, they were compressed enough to upload. I'm trying to bulk out the 'village' with quick to build buildings as I do not enjoy building houses or shops when compared to working scenery like the coal mine. Laser cut shell... 119204543_...

Re: Box of oily bits
Nice work!
I notice there was the best part of two bodies in the toolbox in the first photo. You wouldn't happen to have a spare cab floor amongst the bits would you?

Re: The Development of the WLR
Thank you - it must be something to do with the recent update to Facebook - rooting back through some images I have posted on here before, the sizes of the files (same camera phone) are an order of 10 smaller.

Re: The Development of the WLR
Can anyone advise me how to compress an image to allow me to upload it here? The images directly from my phone are always too big so I tend to upload to Facebook, then save from there which normally does a good enough job of the compression, but today that seems not to be enough! I don't want to use...

Re: Rolling Stock Storage Box
Aye, it's cutting multiple identical panels that's stopping me, too. Might be worth checking out your local Mens Shed, looking on the net there's one in Buderim. They usually have a workshop with useful things like table saws, etc. I invested in a Triton Workbench many years ago when they were made...

Re: Rolling Stock Storage Box
Nice work there, and very tidy. I should really get on with making some stock boxes myself.. Just to add as it may not be clear, I did not make the box, just the tray. I'm going to make a set of boxes of standard width and height with varying lengths for the loco fleet. A friend with a well equippe...

Rolling Stock Storage Box
A pleasant little job yesterday afternoon adding a second level to a Locobox box I had knocking about to make it more suitable for storage and transportation of rolling stock. 4mm plywood base and 12mm ends. Might provide some inspiration for someones stock storage. Just got to build boxes for the l...

Re: The Development of the WLR
Most of the boats are for sale if anyone fancies dabbling in some model yachting! Are they radio controlled? I did a fair bit of dinghy sailing in my younger days and have sometimes fancied the idea of getting back on the water, albeit in model form. Rik Yes, they are fitted with RC on the rudder a...

Re: The Development of the WLR
Collared some help today to get stuck into a job that's wanted doing for ages - a coat of paint on the walls. Looks like a bomb has gone off in there now as everything had to be taken out of the shed and all of the signs taken down. I think you'll agree that this makes the space far more pleasant......

Re: Mamod Brunel Modifications
Success! Brunel happily pottered around for a good half an hour this afternoon, Thanks to all those who gave advice! - Spacer added between burner and footplate to increase gap between burner and boiler (see arrow). This spacer was originally installed as essentially a large washer above the footpla...

Mamod Brunel Modifications
Finally coaxed my Mamod Brunel around the line a few times today with thanks to advice from Chris Cairns. - Plastic gas pipe replaced with copper. - Leaky gas jet attended to. - Boiler raised to allow more air to burner (temporarily with some BA spanners wedged in until I turn up a set of spacers) -...
