How does this not short out?

I came across this video on YouTube.

https://youtu.be/XhutgXcCglQ

It's a traditional OO train, running under water. I thought it was an April fool at first, but it was posted in August. Surely the water should make everything short out???

Re: 16mmngmassoc

Totally agree , it’s not cosy anymore , too professional and glossy particularly the mag , it’s all about bling and spending power. I've been wary of saying this, but I've been thinking that for a while now. All my models are built as cheaply as possible, my little railway is 100% to scale to the I...

Re: 16mm and its relationship with other scales

Thanks Big Jim! Although to be honest my faith in exhibiting there has taken a hit. I wouldn't have a problem with a Thomas layout like you describe, if it interests the children, possibly even an adult, it can't be a bad thing. I will hopefully be exhibiting at the Cultra model railway day in Novem...

Re: 16mm and its relationship with other scales

My experience at the weekend seems to reinforce my original post. As some of will know I was due to exhibit at the North Down Model Show in Bangor, N Ireland. I had booked 3 tables, which had disappeared prior to my attempted set up on Saturday morning. Some tables were acquired, but not enough to c...

Cost of OO against 16mm

I had some time to kill today so I had a look at the various model railway magazines. What struck me was how expensive OO has become! Granted 16mm kits are cheaper, and have to be built, but the majority are easy to assemble. I appreciate a RH Lady Ann isn't exactly cheap, but it's a proper live ste...

Chris, the fact that it was originally planned for 7mm explains a lot.

Re: 71 Mile Garden Railway anyone?? Channel 4 - 7th Jan

Watched episode 2. Hmmmmmm..... did you notice how many times they cut the shot just before the loco was about to round a curve? I suspect derailments were a lot more frequent than is portrayed. Interesting insights on this website - https://www.broadcastnow.co.uk/factual/the-biggest-little-railway...

Personally, I'd prefer something less detailed, at a better price.
