At £600 its not much under a Ragleth! I remember selling the original Mamod Train sets at Beatties for £69.99! Happy days! I agree, I think Mamod have lost their path and need to decide if they want to create higher priced scale models or inexpensive and simple engineering models. I'd consider buyi...

I would imagine that a MV would work just as well with battery locos that only have the most basic speed control on board. After reading through this thread I've already checked out where I can buy a zecar which I shall do when my model making budget recovers a little. To test that theory I had a ...

If possible could someone post a picture please of how they removed the wheels as I do not want to cut them off and damage the sprocket again. I just pulled the wheels really hard. With a bit of wiggling, a pair of pliers and persistence, eventually they came off. I don't have a vice, I think that ...

Crayfish your video is great. I wish it was a bit longer. I am happy that others have tried this and it works. Once it is finished I will take another longer video, hopefully including some stopping and starting. I'll also try it with a battery loco to look at the effect it has there. I can't help ...

I've also built myself a momentum van in a desperate attempt to make my Accucraft Leader behave itself on my little space constrained line. To add to the tight (mamod track) radius and aesthetically pleasing but train unfriendly reverse curves, there are also unplanned gradients that can cause a tra...

The original link won't work for me so here's an alternative link for any others that might be having the same problem:

Re: Solar power
I bought a cheap solar powered educational toy which has lead to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfmT8yMpHNc&list=UUcpCP-eLIP3xHjDu9qej5mg&index=2&feature=plcp I've wanted to do this for some time and had a failed attempt at adding solar recharging to an IP railcar I made. I'd love to ...

Smoke rings can be made by any circular opening, it just takes a momentary burst of pressure through the hole. This video explains it quite well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4b2SV3ASUxY Skip to about a minute in if you are impatient to see the smoke rings being made. I guess the circumstances by ...
