Re: The Grand View Light Railway expands
The yellow coach/carriage is from the Bachmann Little Hauler/ Short Line series. It is going to be the 1st Class Service Parlour Car for the patrons of the Grand View Resort. The wheelbase is a bit long for my 32" minimum radius curves, so I put on the smallest diameter 32mm wheel sets and sque...

Thank you!
Best part of this is creating a working operations track plan and figuring out an engine and freight car roster to fit the operations plan.

I have built a small SM32 indoors railway in my Office representing the Terminal End of a 2 foot Narrow Gauge Railway serving a Hot and Mineral Springs Resort circa 1905, built in the USA San Juan mountains near the New Mexico and Colorado border by British investors. They chose 2 foot as being easi...

How do you coal fire the engine with a bunker blocking the firebox door?artfull dodger wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 8:43 pm I put one of the new rear coal bunkers that Roundhouse offers on my factory built Billy, that also really makes the engine look more complete as a tank engine. The open cab back really needs either the bunker or the tender.

I am building a SM32 Live Steam indoors layout in 2 rooms of my house. Peco SM32 points availability here in the USA has dried up, and as I contact UK dealers they are all telling me they are Out Of Stock. You could also use Peco flex track, bent down to 20 inch radius to fit.

Re: Smokey Sophie - A Roundhouse/Riverdale Amy coal fire build
Hmmm... Jason Kovacs from Train Department uses an independent boiler maker for his coal conversions.
I wonder if they would be interested in making and marketing 2 flue coal boilers to fit Roundhouse chassis?

Loco lining in the USA
Does anyone do loco lining in the USA?
I received my factory lined Accucraft Peckett and it makes my RH Katie and Accucraft Sabrina look like plain Janes...
The cost of shipping round trip to the UK has become astronomical, so looking for someone on this side of the Pond.
Thanks for any help!

I've recently got the exact same peckett you have. It's an excellent steamer & it'll happily run at a slowish speed & it'll restart its self if it looses a bit of steam pressure. I absolutely love mine it's one of my favourite locos. It has a surprisingly good haulage capacity too. That is ...

Thanks! The lanterns are from Ozark Minatures, figures by Busy Body.
The larger one took 6 evenings to build after supper watching Netflix, the smaller one took 4 evenings as the build sequence was figured out on the first car.

Scratch built Brake Vans
The 2 foot Grand View Light Railway needed some Brake Vans for train operations, so I built a couple on short LGB chassis out of popsicle sticks and tongue depressors. The larger one is Bi-directional and doesn't need turning, the Brakeman just changes seats and changes ends of the rear marker lante...
