Re: Weak Bachmann Lyn motor
p.s. do you take commissions? Only if I can charge realistically for the hours I put into sorting them out ...... Rik  I assumed that would be the answer ;) Looking at it would I be right in saying that your new motor block has the motor sat lower so that the new smaller worms can ...

Re: Weak Bachmann Lyn motor
Hi Rik,
That's brilliant, glad you managed to find a solution.
Another option to the meshing issue might be to print new axle muffs that match the new worms?

Re: The Charlwood Light Railway (CWLR)
No.4 has been out on a running in turn this afternoon with a short rake of goods wagons. I’ve changed the rear coupler from an LGB type (it wasn’t articulated so was struggling with the R1 curves) to a white metal centre buffer, same as the front. I’ve also removed the cow catchers and replaced the ...

Re: The Charlwood Light Railway (CWLR)
Thanks for all the kind comments guys, it’s much appreciated :) Really like that first shot looking down the train. You did well to get the focus and depth of field right. I find AF settings on my camera tends to focus on precisely the wrong thing. Rik Thanks Rik. I’m quite pleased with that shot to...

The guard of this afternoons goods train noticed something unusual when crossing the midday down passenger this afternoon.... Re: RC for No.4, fitted but won’t charge...
You know the old adages about double and triple checking things and reading the instructions?
Well sometimes that ain’t enough!
I’ve just discovered, after speaking with Strikalite, that I’d wired the charging socket the wrong way round!
Thanks for the help, hopefully it’ll work now!

Re: RC for No.4, fitted but won’t charge...
If the charger is charging other batteries then contact the supplier as you may have a faulty battery. Can you provide links of the charger and battery you are using so we can have a look? Hi Tom, We double checked that it was still charging LOTI last night and had no issues. These are the battery ...

Re: RC for No.4, fitted but won’t charge...
Thanks for the quick replies guys. Much appreciated. So, as suggested, I’ve disconnected the battery wires from the switch and speed controller and temporarily attached them directly to the charging socket. There’s power getting through, but the charging light still isn’t coming on. So that suggests...

Looks great Rob. I also hate electrics with a passion also... :( Thanks Rod. I’m glad it isn’t just me! I was saying to my Dad last night that I love building layouts, but I hate woodwork and electrics! Electrics more so! With my new 009 layout I’ve now finished to woodwork and track work, and am n...

RC for No.4, fitted but won’t charge...
Hi guys, As you may have seen in the main CLR thread, I spent a few hours fitting RC gear and batteries to my second Bachmann Baldwin. The batteries are Strikalite NI-MH ones similar to those fitted to no.9, my big LGB diesel. Because of this, I have used the Brian Jones wiring diagram used for No.9...

Re: The Charlwood Light Railway (CWLR)
Thanks Guys, you do flatter me! Not much to report over the last few days, although today I spent a few hours installing the batteries and RC gear into No.4 so that it can finally enter service. The speed controller and receiver arrived a few days ago and were set up temporarily to make sure everyth...
