Isopropyl Alcohol rather than Indian Pale Ale. Both have their uses but it’s best not to mix them up.

Re: Garden Railway Gallery, Winners Thread

After a last minute flurry of votes ( thanks guys) the March 2023 Gallery winner is... a dead heat between BWLR and myself  Since I've won a couple of times before, I'll leave it to BWLR to rack his brains for the next theme :D If you could let me have it by the end of the month please Peter? C...

Re: Bed bubbles

Now all I need to do is work out how best to clean the print surface properly. Assuming that yours is glass, I tend to use IPA routinely from time to time, just to collect dust etc that has accumulated, and Acetone if it has any kind of adhered build up. However, if you let the glass cool down comp...

Re: Bed bubbles

Hi Dave, Like Rik, I don't have an Ender, but I do have a Creality CR20Pro, which is very similar. I don't actually recall a plastic film on the bed when I got it 12 months ago, but it may well have had it. I'm sure it needs to be removed though. Do you have a magnetic bed or a glass one? My CR20 Pr...

Re: TVT - Down in the Forest Something Stirred

I thought only one motor would be pushing it a bit!

With my penchant for oddball loco's I was tempted to have a go at this once I read the article, but at over a foot long it's too big for my line. I've always fancied a Shay and this has that look without the outward complications, but...

Re: TVT - Down in the Forest Something Stirred

Nice build Graeme. I'm not quite clear as to whether both bogies are powered?
I do like the look of that loco, shame it was so unsuccessful in real life, just hope your version gets on better. :D

Re: A tiny G gauge indoor layout

(not happy with the waterfall yet) The outfall from the culvert and the final section of rapids both look brilliant, but the two main waterfall drops don't yet 'work' to my eyes, they look too 'solid' and white. IMO you need to inject some transparency... maybe go back to using the good old 'crinkl...

Re: Sandstone and Termite web pages

Thanks for that Greg. I have occasionally looked in to your site, just to pass the time, and I seem to remember that the last time I attempted it I got some sort of error. Just thought it was a temporary glitch and moved on. Wish I'd said something, now!

Re: Pont y Gelli - A composite printed bridge

Oh matching screw threads - how did you do that? I was doing some work for an acquaintance, just printing project boxes for him. Part of his work involves a small lens focussing onto a photodiode on a pcb and he asked if it would be possible to print some sort of screw focusing mechanism. I said I'...

Re: Need some idea with a water tower

In keeping with the Home Depot repurposed materials theme, how about getting some square metal mesh of a suitable size ( garden mesh, or even a barbeque grid) and cuttting a strip which you then wrap around the gallery level of your water tower?

Re: Pont y Gelli - A composite printed bridge

Thats very interesting. I've never used tree supports so far. Mainly because I wasn't really sure what they did or what use they would be over 'normal' supports and i've never had the need to investigate, but perhaps I will now. So many things to learn, all the time. Like, this past weekend I've lea...
