Re: A Kab for a Konrad

The cab looks really great! In fact, the Konrad is a good base to make different looks. My Konrad got a cab from plywood because I have neither the knowledge nor the machines for doing it in metal.

I have to admit that craftmanship is not one of my notable skills. In fact, that's one of the reasons for me to use laser technology, but only with plywood, brass is not my world. I limit myself to do the design of the needed parts. In the last years I met many people with different other skills and...

IP Jane | Customize to 7/8ths

Good Morning,

somewhere I've seen pictures from a Jane with a higher cab front for 7/8ths scale. Unfortunately, I can't remember where in the web...
Is there a manufacture offering this part?

Anna and her new clothes

For some time I've thought about give one of my Annas a new look and extend her runs. If you know the moods of the Beck's locomotives and you can elimenate them, Anna is a very smooth runner. My idea is to add a tender, including a bigger Regner gas tank and a water reservoir to feed the boiler with...

Sometimes german model builders are clever. The rusty Konrad isn't from Regner but made of wood, paper and only some Regner parts. The Konrad dummy was built by my friend Christian from Nuremberg. http://www.bahn.acnetwork.de/uploads/Artikel/Kartonmodelle/Rohbaufertig.jpg http://www.bahn.acnetwork.d...

Hi Rob, no doubt, your axle box design is deliberate and easy to build. But nevertheless I'll try to improve their performance. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/26455497/Swiftsixteen_05.jpg Today your cars made the first run from "Sukna to sleepy Hollow". It seems that the crew is satisfied with th...

Some weeks ago I ordered some Swift Sixteen kits. I admire the tricky kind of building the body - it consists of only three parts. Look at my first try to paint it. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/26455497/Swiftsixteen_03.jpg But I don't like the funktion of the axle bearings. Please note, my criticism is n...

Saddle tank versus side tank

Hello, some weeks ago I talked with some friends about the different design principles between british and german tank locos. One big point was: We know no german locos with a saddle tank, but many british. I can imagine that the saddle tank isolates the boiler and the boiler preheat the water??? Si...

In my junk box I found a Regner-Boiler. But its diameter is slightly larger than the original.
Even when using a gas burner underneath the boiler, the space is in my opinion too small.
However I'll try it using a pps gas burner.

Bye

Jack,

the main problem is the small space between the alcohol burner and the boiler. The flames burns the paint on the side tanks away instead of put up the boiler pressure.
I meditate on changing from alcohol to gas firing by a internal burner - means building a new boiler.

Good evening,

.. hmm, I almost don't dare me to say it: I bought the Sedgemoor last fall:oops:
At the moment it feels more comfortable on the shelf than on the tracks with fire in the boiler. Some little problems have to be solved.
