Hi

I have a DJB Engineering Beyer Peakcock in the Ailsa era Light Green livery, does anyone know of a suitable paint I could use for some minor touch ups ?

Re: Criccieth Castle vs Accucraft Baugley

I have both also, but the build quality of the Criccieth Castle is I find much higher, very robust, very weighty and powerful, although the Accucraft Baugley is very nice too and is somewhat cheaper, so it's perhaps understandable why one is better than the other

Re: Mountaineer

[quote="williamfj:119890"]I am now the proud owner of this modified Steamcraft Mountaineer which has had some modifications, chief among which was the fitting of Roundhouse cylinders and slip eccentric valve gear. She ran well, and I think as I run her more and learn her foibles she'll ge...

Could you tell me the number of the WD plate that was for sale? If it is 1215, there are now unfortunately many copies are for sale. A chap in Lincolnshire purchased an "official" replica from the owning society, and has since been selling numerous copies, on ebay and antique fairs and ste...

What an excellent selection of photos, looks as though a good time was had by all.

One of the best selections of Heritage locos running I've seen in a while.

I do like the Archangel Sammy loco.

Many thanks for posting the photos.

They are now refered to as E-Clips and are 1/8" / 3.175mm. Plenty of 3mm E-Clips available on evilbay - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3MM-NITRO-BODY-ENGINE-E-CLIPS-CLIP-CIRCLIP-pack-20-/270654558429?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item3f0444d0dd Chris Cairns. Excellent, thanks for the ...

Circlip sizes for Mamod / Merlin

Hi

Could anyone tell me the size of the circlip used to hold on mamod coupling rods? I need a few, and have discovered the my Merlin Little Wonder also share the same size.

Thanks in advance.

I think to be fair I take into account all those options when purchasing something, whether it be a loco, rolling stock, kit etc. I do like a good online shop, where I can purchase anything I like at ease and know it will arrive safely, however its equally as pleasing to make a phone call to say Rou...

Mountaineer looks rather handsome too. Technically, of course, it is the second version Roundhouse have produced, since they manufactured the Steamcraft version back in the '80s! Does anyone have a picture of one of these? Here is a photo of my Steamcraft Mountaineer, I purchased this from David Ta...

In the past when I've fitted them, I've disposed of what comes with the coupling (I believe they are 2mm screws) and used 8 ba hexagon headed bolts.

I'm very tempted by a Leader. The reviews look good and isn't much more than a Bertie. Last week I had a little ride on the footplate of Melior at the Sittingbourne & Kemsley railway. I saw Leader in the shed, still in bits but they hope to have her running by October time. I like the blue live...

Re: The American Steam Locomotive Co Ltd

I just purchased this on ebay, and wanted to know the history behind it, as the loco itself looks more like a French Decauville than an American loco. You are correct, it was based on a Decauville Prototype,  IIRC possibly the ones sent to Australia to the sugar industry. See http://www.zelmeroz.co...

That's a really lovely model - and an unusual prototype too. It would look perfect with a rake of small cane wagons  8) And I think I see my (recently sold) Ruby in the background, hope it's still doing well  ;) It certainly is your old Ruby, and she certainly enjoys running round the new railway :)
