Hi Planty, I see that you used foamboard for the building of the church and no doubt you will be using the same for the signal box, what is the life span of this board when left outside in all weathers and what adhesive did you use to join pieces together

to stain wood try tea bags yes I did say tea bags, look into any used cup and look at the stains, the more you expose the wood to the tea the darker it goes and you keep the natural look of the wood, try it and you will be amazed and you get a cuppa at the same time rewards all round

As promised, fine tuned the Peckett with couplers and added the fire irons, also looks well with shed mate Hunslet 0-4-0 (Linda, keeps the wife happy), all I need now is some fine weather to give them a run.

many thanks for the comments, I found the kit to be very basic and needed lots of work to get it into a workable state, but I suppose that is what you get when working from a kit form. the chassis was very crudely put together and the wheel and rods needed some attention, but overall I found it a go...
