I haven't done it, but if you have the hinge axis above the railhead then there will be no issue with the bridge rails fouling the fixed rails.

As a total noob to this kind of thing, I would say it's a real bargain. That is (genuinely) how I operate the points on my HO module. With the kadee uncoupling skewer. Doesn't work at much more than arms length though. :lol:
