Re: Slaters De Winton question regarding batteries & r/c
slaters unfortunately cancelled my order I had placed for one as they cannot fulfill my order because they dont have the motors in stock for it presently. Theyve told me to re order in another month, I just had to wait six weeks for a replacement motor for the Quarry Hunslet kit I'm building, so I ...

Re: Slaters De Winton question regarding batteries & r/c
Alan Jones documented his build of one of these kits on RMWeb at https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index ... loner-kit/
I was considering one until I read of the possible 12 week wait for one.

Re: Using Fusion360 to produce drawings for 3D printing
Firstly, thanks for a great thread. It's further inspiration to make the effort to learn more about Fusion. I probably wouldn't have thought of using the parameters function at all, but I can see that it could be really helpful bringing measurements into a drawing. I've used Tinkercad a fair bit. Wh...

16mm Slater Hunslet kit build
I'm just starting a 16mm Slaters quarry Hunslet kit of 'Rough pup'. Has anyone else here made one of these ? If so can I ask a couple of questions please ? How did you add the rivet detail ? I don't have and can't really justify the expense of a rivet press. I wasn't too happy using a centre punch o...

Re: The Guide to 16mm Scale Modelling
I thought the guide a fantastic piece of work. A superb production, well set out with a real high quality feel about. A brilliant feat for a small amateur society to acheive. It really is nit picking to mention the odd typo in such circumstances. the guide give no guidance to either track power, and...

Re: Internet "forums" are a thing of the past
You only need to look at Reddit or 4chan to understand why approval is needed No issue with needing approval at all, absolutely good practice. The issue is how long it takes. Two weeks, plus needing an extra prod to via an email to an administrator ? pretty poor in the 21st century. There should be...

I do have experience of running forums actually, but TWO WEEKS ? really ? I've never had to wait that long to join any online forum or service before.

Re: Internet "forums" are a thing of the past
Interesting to look at this thread as a new member. Are forums declining ? often in new content, but one needs to consider if forums are being used as a resource. Often regular subjects have been dealt with time and time again, but can be researched by newcomers without adding anything new. This is ...

Re: Slaters 2 ton slate wagon
I've built loads of these, and I like 'em gnarly: Lovely work there. What do you use to apply the iron fillings ? It would be interesting to read a good and detailed weathering tutorial that is specifically for 16mm scale. I'm not sure that the 4mm techniques so widely reported all necessarily scal...

Re: Slaters 2 ton slate wagon
An interesting thread and sorry to comment late to it. It seems to take a long time to get permission to join this forum. I thought this kit, well the braked version in my case, would be a nice gentle reintroduction for me to return to 16mm modelling after a very long gap. Looking at this thread; Gr...
