Re: Refurbishing resin buildings
Thanks everyone for your responses. After trying nitromors on a hidden area I then resorted to old fashioned Dettol that we have used previously on old resin wagons. Most of the paint lifted after a day or so (and a lot of scrubbing with a fine wire brush) and I was able to wash the surface clean wi...

Refurbishing resin buildings
Hi everyone, Many years ago we purchased some 'Lineside Delights' buildings. I've always put them away in the winter to protect them from the worst of the weather. The paintwork (several coats of acrylic with clear matt lacquer) has now become decidedly tatty and flaking in places so I thought I wou...

Re: IP Engineering freelance carriages
In order to eliminate the flat area when rolling sheet metal roll a short distance (say 25mm)from the rear of the rollers first. (In reverse) Then remove the part and roll from the front as normal starting with the pre rolled end.

Re: Painting dads army figures
Hi,
I have a set of the excellent Rob Bennett Dad's Army figures and when they became a little worn in places Rob advised me that he used Tamiya paint Khaki XF-49. Tamiya paint can be a little expensive but easily available in most model shops.
Hope this helps.

Re: Avonside Heisler loco info?
Hi Tom, I hope all goes well for Monday and the operation is a success. Besides the pain you are suffering it must be very frustrating having all these ideas in your head and not being able to do anything. Let's hope you are back on your feet quickly and can get back out into the workshop. Should al...

Re: Avonside Heisler loco info?
Hi Tom, Hope your back is getting better. I sympathise as my mother suffered back problems on and off for many years. At times it was very debilitating. I'm glad you have ordered the Peter Angus book. It's full of information both full size and 16mm model form and the section on Avonside Heislers is...

Re: Avonside Heisler loco info?
Hi Tom, This is my first ever posting on the forum having only just joined last weekend. In answer to your question have you a copy of Peter Angus's book? He devotes a whole section to the Avonside Heisler, about 14 pages. The latter ones used the Stour Valley Steam 'boxer' motor. Sadly, the origina...
