The poor little beast looks like it's had a hard life, certainly storage wise.

Thanks guys, really does look like we are heading in the right direction. I'm assuming that as Li-ion cells have an in built circuit board and therefore are self balancing? I need to research into charging and find out if there is a supplier of packs in the UK other than those that supply in the tho...

Have you tried this supplier? http://www.strikalite.co.uk/prodcat_type/32/ALL/0/index.asp I tend to use strikealite for all my power packs. Brilliant customer service every time and never had any problems either. But I've noticed he seems to have the same fear of LiPos that seem s to be doing the r...

Thanks gents, I'm slowly getting there on what's what so to speak, the bit I'm struggling on now is finding something of the capicity of the Cell pack one I put up earlier but of a similar size. Though the lack of ballance lead and to another extent the price put me off it. Gens make a 4s2p 3300mah ...

those prices seem a bit steep, I buy most of my Lipos from Hobbyking (UK Warehouse) or BRC/Robotbirds (same company) http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__317__85__Batteries_Accessories-Turnigy_Lipoly.html I know what you mean, I've been searching through to try and find what I want at a reas...

Batteries, types and LiPo questions etc
Ok it's possibly best if I give the background here. I've been rebuilding one of my battery locos and as part of the rebuilding its had a new MFA motor and gearbox fitted: http://www.mfacomodrills.com/gearboxes/919d_series.html I've now fitted a roundhouse locoglyde ESC to convert it from manual to ...

Have a click on my 'www', I've 2 ACCUCRAFT locos and a rake of 4 wheel coaches built from IP Engineering kits. The link includes a photo of my Lawley with the train showing the matching profile. I've seen the same stock both built as per, but fitted with bogies and also rebuilt using 3 kits to form...

Can't say I've had any real problems with choppers coming uncoupled. I've got a good mix of accucraft and Tenmile. I've also fitted the swiftsixteen choppers to a couple of my locos. Expensive but they don't look as oversized as the Accucraft ones do. They do need abit of work on the chopper themsel...

I emailed them about the pooter, it's the ex station road one from 2012 the went for £365 then went on eBay last year for £14xx. They told me they were a 3rd part selling it for a client and that the 'client' had told them there was no sign of it being steamed and that the boiler was loose. I let th...

Anything is 'doable' all depends on how much time work and money someone is willing to spend on it. My Meastro has had a new boiler fitted and is currently waiting for the chassis to be overhauled. It's had a new roundhouse regulator fitted, the old regulator steam dome becoming a water topup. The R...

By rubber rings do you mean the type with the stuffing gland nut on the the piston rod end of the piston? If so slacken these right off and run in (loco on blocks) using plenty of oil on the piston rods. Once it's all freed off finger tighten the nuts until steam stops blowing past, any more will be...
