Re: IP Engineering Wheels

By the way, just to make things clear, I am aware that the recent posts no longer fit into the 'Help and Advice' category - probably. But they are relevant to the original posts so I have included them on the same topic. However, if anyone has any issue with this, I will re-post the video in a diffe...

Re: IP Engineering Wheels

Is this any better?
I don't have the time to keep up to date with a lot of those changes/mods.

Re: IP Engineering Wheels

For those who are interested I have posted a video of the working locomotive on youtube @: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hcp1YWTz8TM&feature=youtu.be It is a very simple design but the whole point was to prove that I could make a working 3D printed locomotive on the cheap. In total it has cost...

Re: IP Engineering Wheels

Out of interest, what motors does everyone use in their models. The one I am currently looking at can be found on the following URL. https://uk.rs-online.com/mobile/p/dc-motors/2389715/ However, I have no idea of what the necessary load capacities, etc. - generally speaking - should be. I can't incl...

Re: IP Engineering Wheels

Cheers. Worked a treat. I had to use a workbench rather than a metal vice and a nail rather than a punch (I don't have the former and I've lost the latter) but it still worked fine. I will post a picture when I get the time - or shalnt be until after the weekend unfortunately. I will keep you all up...

IP Engineering Wheels

Hi, this is my first foray into scratch building locomotives. I am just creating a simple drive train where the motor is connected directly to one of two axles via a worn gear on the motor shaft. I therefore need to fit a gear to the middle of one axle. Someone told me that IP Engineering wheels set...

Re: Merlin Spares

A model engineer, such as Tony at Rhos Helyg may be able to make/adapt something to fit. Thanks for the recommendation Rob, but unfortunately I cannot help. My suggestion would be to contact Simon Whenmouth at http://www.anythingnarrowgauge.co.uk/ Thanks for the recommendation. I emailed Simon and ...

Merlin Spares

Hello, I am new to G scale live steam modelling and have recently inherited my Grandfathers Merlin gas locomotive. I originally had to fix the servo control circuit and in doing so I snapped a bolt on the gas/ignition system. Does anyone know where I can buy replacement parts fro Merlin locomotives....
