Re: Persistence pays!
That does look good Rik. I have had some complaints recently about amazons courier drivers, one young chap has started to push parcels through the letterbox, which is ok for thin items, but when it paint or something a little bit bulkier, he still pushes it through the letterbox. It is now starting...

It will hopefully be a problem that the recipient is prepared to solve.
A 5/10 gallon drum and a wheelbarrow spring to mind.
Good luck.

Re: Printer bed materials
I know some manage without Pritt. Whenever I try that (usually because I've forgotten to renew the Pritt), I very rarely get away with it. So no idea how others manage without Pritt - unless they rack up the bed temperature - mine are both set at 60C even though I know they would work without it. R...

At least once done, you can simply size it to any other scale, within reason.

Re: Running roundhouse engines on MSS track
Sorry to disagree, years ago I was running Mammod locos on Mammod track (which I believe is the same as MSS). It was quite happy to have burning hex blocks sitting on it, and worst case scenario you would only have to replace one section. It would only be the radius of the points that might cause a ...

If we really believe there will be people submitting entries, and subsequently voting tactically, in order to boost their chances of winning a quarterly competition for which there is no reward or prize then I wish them all the best. This thread seems to overestimated its own importance by a factor ...

I have one I bought of ebay with the intention of turning into a railcar.
I'll look out what I paid and you can have it for the same.
I'll send a PM when I've found it!

Re: Track Bed Ideas
The other thing to take into consideration is the type of soil in your garden. If it's clay then you will potentially have all sorts of movement issues every time it rains or the sun comes out or the temperature drops in winter. No need to ask how you know ....... 🤗 Rik Anyone in Northamptonshire k...

Re: Garden Railway Gallery - a POLL, please read.
After all, creating a garden railway is 90% imagination and only 10% reality. I was about to disagree, claim that it's at least 50/50, and demand a poll on the subject - then I realised that if I honestly think that then I've lost any idea of what reality is anyway. Which is quite possible... Can I...

I've voted 1, but could have just as easily voted 2.
Just keep it running with the proviso that once the number of entries drops below a predetermined level you archive it.
BTW I've never entered a photo, but do follow the entries and always vote.

Re: Static points, has anybody created a working set?
Rob - That is absolutely brilliant. I assume as you created so many they proved reliable. Studying the pictures and noting the lack of check rails, is the favoured facing road determined by which blade you have left longest? To the people who mentioned sprung points, I use Peco points in their stand...

Static points, has anybody created a working set?
As per the title, I've seen the concept at work from a distance and would love to give it a try. However sacrificing a perfectly serviceable set of points on the alter of curiosity seems rather extravagant. For the unenlightened I'm talking about a set of points with no moving parts that allow traff...

It's not a kit, but have you looked at Peco SL-801.
