Re: Inaugural steam run on the CVLR

The paint colour and lining on the "Katie" look superb, especially with the red coaches. Thank you. Katie is in victorian maroon lined out by me with Trimline gold tape and the coaches I sprayed with Halfords Ford burgundy red and lined with the same tape. And I know the loco's name is no...

Re: Inaugural steam run on the CVLR

Thanks for the positive comments all, they're much appreciated. And yes, it is nice to have some long straight runs. However, there will be twisty bits too when negotiations with the head gardener conclude and allow me to take it across the path to the other half of the garden. 😉

Wide angle lens makes the space look a lot larger than it is....

Boulton Mamodifications

I've fitted a few detailing parts and have done some weathering to my Mamod Boulton. Still needs steps, sandboxes, springs and glazing but it's getting there.

Re: Mamod Boulton with RC and sound

Steve at Fosworks supplies three different versions; single horn with single blast, twin horn with single blast and this one which is twin horn with three blasts.

It's loud too. This is playing through a 50mm speaker directly behind the radiator grille and is only half volume!

Mamod Boulton with RC and sound

My Mamod Boulton has now acquired radio control and sound using Deltang radio gear and a Fosworks sound card. Alterations to the appearance and weathering are now underway.

Re: Inaugural train on the CVLR

It's wide angle distortion that makes the loco look longer, she is standard length. :)

I would love to post a video but I don't have a YouTube channel and the only way I can see of showing a vid is to link from one?

Inaugural train on the CVLR

Here's a quick shot of the first train to run on the newly completed first stage of the CVLR.
Lined and detailed RH Lady Anne 'Lely Mo' and a rake of four modified IP Engineering VOR coaches.

Re: Compton Valence Light Railway

Thanks Rik. I would have preferred it at ground level but with a garden that slopes every which way it wasn't really possible. I don't know what age you are now, but as the years pass I'm sure you'll be grateful you didn't go ground level. Rik A very good point. I'm not quite at that stage yet but ...

Re: Compton Valence Light Railway

Thanks Grant, but don't let your eyes deceive you. There is a 1 in 50 gradient down either side from the house to the curve at the bottom as I like to hear the locos work for a living. It does level out before and around the curve though.

Re: Compton Valence Light Railway

Thank you.

Once the shrubbery I pruned grows back it should hopefully blend in nicely. Then, when time, finances and the boss allow, I can take over the other side of the path too. ;)

Re: Compton Valence Light Railway

It is the front garden and pretty sheltered so should be ok. There are only a few houses in the village so not many neighbours walk past and, more importantly, as I'm in a cul de sac off another cul de sac off a lane off another lane 3 miles from a main road, not many strangers either.
