Re: Garden Railway Gallery, Winners Thread

Both worthy winners. But it was a tricky choose this time. The standard was very high.
Well done to all those who contributed.

Re: Bed bubbles

Hi Dave. Welcome to the forum.
I've not got an Ender myself, but it does sound as if the film is there for protection during transit and should have been removed.
Neither of my two machines came with such a film - though a replacement glass bed which I bought subsequently did.

Beautiful - as always with your builds.
It seems remarkable to me that such small gear motors can provide the power needed.

To my untrained eye, that looks very much like Boston Lodge, with the mainline on the right there.
I think you could be right. Just found this online

Re: Help please - if you can

Another from the NGRS Ffestiniog Collection. This one has been catalogued as "Merddin Emrys Taliesin and The Princess at Boston Lodge Works". That doesn't look like Boston Lodge to me. On the back of the photo in pencil someone has put "WHR?" which makes me wonder if it's Dinas. Also, If that is a s...

I need some more trees and scrub along the lake edge. And maybe a fisherman and his campfire. (or a Jolly swagman camped by the billabong?)
It is looking really effective. I love the way the stream cascades over the rocks.

Didn't you once have an animated swagman poking the fire?

'Gold gilding cream' is new to me, unless it is similar to that used on picture frames.
It certainly looks good. I thought the door handle was a brass casting.

Re: Lets see all your scratchbult locos in G scale etc

I did this one in Lockdown II & III (or was it III & IV) Cobbled together from some bits from an IP engineering chassis and a few other bits and bobs. (A sort of NER/ Steeplecab battery electric thingumybob) Kept me entertained for a month or so on and off. 239583040_837201146996166_151729239435244...

Re: Biting the bullet - wholesale conversion from 45mm to SM32

I am curious? Did you ever consider going the other way, to match the track you had? I am thinking 7/8ths, but this is the man talking who *still* hasn't got his brain around scale, gauge, narrow, standard.. Phil.P I did wonder about SE scale as well, but I think that would have been even more work...
