Re: The Railway in the Valley of the Mill
Trevor your explanations are so good I'm almost tempted to try building points in this scale myself... (I've soldered together points in 4mm and 7mm scale but nothing as elegant or as robust looking as these!) Meanwhile - some video from our running session 3 weeks ago . Mostly of Moel Rhos stock, ...

Re: Bachmann Lyn cab removal
Mine was the early version with the plastic motor block. I'm not sure if they changed the body on the newer version or kept it the same.
I have a feeling I had to take the whole body off before the cab could be split from the boiler - but it was a while ago.

Re: Bachmann Lyn cab removal
Hi Guys, Just wondering how easy it is to get the cab off Lyn ? Has anyone done it without breaking anything ? I need to repaint the (red) cab roof/windows and remove the doors. TIA. Andy Hi Andy I have done it and normally I'd take step by step photos for my blog, but it looks like I didn't for th...

Re: Time to build a railway...but where?
I was going to say 32 Rik This was not intended to be a trick question, but Rik's answer has made me think about the wording more carefully. The question referred to battery powered locos, of which there are 32 with built-in battery packs, however, two others need an external supply (trailing van w...

Re: Time to build a railway...but where?
I think you mean "Airfix" Peter. They're unfortunately no longer produced, but I managed to track down a kit and 'converted' it into a horizontal steam engine for my sawmill. IMG_7598.JPG https://riksrailway.blogspot.com/2018/06/how-i-detailed-interior-of-my-sawmill.html?m=1 Rik PS Your sc...

Re: Film photo
By coincidence, I'm selling a 35mm SLR for my brother. In its day, his Olympus OM1N was supposed to be a leading camera in its field. Within 30 mins of putting it on eBay it attracted two bids raising it from £30 to nearly £60. There still seems to be a lot of interest in film cameras these days.

Anyone who wants to build a garden line but whose partner is not keen should show her/him these videos which show how a garden railway
can fit into the garden and enhance the enjoyment of the outdoor space.

Re: Blog, Pictures, and Videos
I've been using Blogger for nearly 20 years. It's (now) hosted by Google and is free (unless you don't like Google) and so is seamless when uploading photos and linking to videos on YouTube (or you can upload videos directly to your blog). I ran out of my storage capacity for photos after about 12 y...

upload restrictions

Thanks for the pictures.
That looks like a really well detailed kit with a beefy motor block.
Can I justify having such a loco on the PLR???
