Re: The Cockatoo Creek Tramway

Need to be wary of some reviews. Over here there are some who just post reviews who haven't even seen or done anything with what they are reviewing and some companies use there own people to review something for company rewards...

Re: Cheapo diesel sound card

For inexplicable reasons, I made the 4 handrails 48mm long instead of 32mm long. I knew it looked wrong but it wa...

Well I think it's going to be brilliant Drew. It's a long journey sometimes to get to something we are happy with, and then I don't think we are all of us, happy are we with want we end up with, there is always something or another that we think needs doing to improve it. :thumbright: Carry on Drew ...

Hi Simon, Great to hear from you. Were does one start on his /her journey into our garden railway hobby ;) It's something most of us can relate to making huge mistakes and then regretting what we have done. You however seem to be ahead of most of us with the early planing of your line. You are one o...

Re: Cheapo diesel sound card

Thanks for your replies guys. I wasn't having ago at anyone in the thread and like I said I did find it interesting reading, but far too complicated for me to understand and I know that between you all you have sorted the problem out. I still don't think I could do anything like the programming at a...

Re: Cheapo diesel sound card

On reading this thread I am glad it's all worked out Philip, yet for me and I presume most of use who are not that well informed with electricity stuff, buying a 'Cheapo Sound Card' isn't something that would be worth it for use, possibly because we would end up blowing stuff up with all those resis...

The lineside workers soon got the line cleared and full service resumed quickly for the rest of the season. :thumbright:

Lucky though, it could have been much much worse, lucky no one was injured. :)

Re: British businesses who won't sell to Canada

This is what I want, the item in the photo isn't the size I want, it would have 54 printed on the belt and not 42... I know there is £3.33 postage on these but cheap enough at 34p each https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32814325775.html Thanks for that Steve. :thumbright: They are not wide enough unfo...

Re: British businesses who won't sell to Canada

I can understand that problem Rik when producers sell something that is electrical or mechanical, then there could be issues, but I think what Keith S is talking about is building models kits which usually have no moving parts, so wouldn't it seem right that producers should sell to those countries....

Re: British businesses who won't sell to Canada

Seems a bit harsh that. Although if the seller or even the buyer isn't covered for legal reasons or whatever it is, should be addressed I think, why stop a buyer from buying something that another buyer from other countries can buy it, apart from those that you have mentioned...just so harsh again.....

Re: Gmeinder & Co loco

It looks like most of it would print reasonably well in filament. I'd probably use the three-part version of the bonnet to allow the sides to lay flat and minimize support. With a 0.12 or 0.16 layer height most of the detail should come through, possibly even the grille- but I always scrutinize the...
