Ffestiniog Carriages

Hi all, I am getting back into the hobby after a break of several years and want to base my railway on the Ffestiniog Railway (Roundhouse's recent announcement may have helped my choice ;)). One thing I have noticed is that during my absence a number of manufacturers / kits of Ffestiniog carriages a...

Hello, I finally got around to steaming my Accucraft Lyn this afternoon and I have encountered a problem with the R/C unit. It is very noisy when switched on but at least both the regulator and direction lever work... until steam is raised. It then makes a horrible noise and won't move. Has anyone e...

Accucraft L&B Carriages

Hi all,
Accucraft have recently posted a pre-production photo of the L&B brake composite coach. Apologies I'm not savvy enough to post a link.
All I can say is "very nice!!!"

Thanks to everyone for their replies... It got the better of me so I went directly to Accucraft. Ian's reply is copied below along with some interesting news regarding the production of the other L&B Manning Wardles; Please ignore this part. It is a left over from when the factory included some ...

Accucraft Lyn

Hello, I've recently taken delivery of an Accucraft Lyn and a very nice engine it is... I've quickly placed an order for their forthcoming Lew model. I've been going through the tools and "parts" that accompany the model and there is one piece I cannot identify. It is a round rod that has ...

The L&B bogie coaches are released end 2010 and there will be a rerun of Lyn. Still waiting for a Roundhouse Manning Wardle as i am not happy to buy another ACC disaster, yep, just my experience... Not likely to be one of these. Accucraft are going to do a Manning Wardle and the two firms do ke...

Accucraft Lyn

Hi all,
I am looking at expanding my railway to include some L&B prototypes and the Accucraft Lyn is an obvious place to start. As my experience to date has only been with Roundhouse models I would appreciate peoples thoughts on this particular model.
Many thanks

Linda looks fantastic...

May I ask what couplings you used and if they are difficult to fix? My Linda is currently being built as we speak... :D

Maxitrak Alice

Hi all, I was just reading the latest issue of Garden Rail to reach me "down under" and I noticed an ad for Maxitrack with a nice looking model of Alice. Being somewhat fond of the baby Hunslets had a look at their website and on first glance was impressed with what I saw. Has anyone had a...

Brandbright vs IP Enginering

Hi everyone, I am new to the delights of garden railways and this foum. I have a Roundhouse Linda & Taliesin on order and am looking to purchase some carriages to run behind them. I have noticed that both Brandbright & IP Engineering offer some nice looking laser cut kits of Ffestiniog carri...
