Re: Future of preserved railways

It’s not necessarily the banning or not of fossil fuels, it will be the decreasing number of filling stations and general access to fuel that will be the problem. As now with electric chargers being few and far between the same will be true of petrol stations in the future. Railways won’t go, they p...

Re: eBay madness

If you think these are bad you should have a look at the recent/current auction of Fred Dibners workshop. People have been bidding £10-25 for a rust nut and bolt from his workshop, small spanner’s have been going for triple figures!! Don’t even start on the old shirts!!! It does go to show that some...

Re: Cyclists

This issue I have is that car drivers and lorries etc feel that they have more right to be on the road as they falsely believe ylthat they are paying road tax. Vehicles are taxed on emissions hence bikes are charged nothing. There are cyclists who give riders a bad name and the same is true of drive...

They are great pest control and are also brilliant entertainment! The downside are the nine scale poos le...

The Hornby Rockets are beautiful but very temperamental! They only work when the mood takes them and then they will only really move themselves. The seals on the gas tank will be giving up the ghost now due to age so be careful.
Get one and enjoy it- just don't expect miracles!!

Having been involved in the running of Steam Toys in Action in Leicester for far too many years than I care to remember we have never had to ask for booker tests on commercially made boilers due to their size. The only boilers which needed a test were home made jobs and those on miniature traction e...

My dad took a small toy steam engine to the Lake Goldsmith Rally in Australia a few years ago. He had no trouble with customs, people were more interested in what it was rather than any threat- especially as it was in a wooden packing case that I had made when I was little! Just don't try and take o...
