Re: Lets start a Merlin locomotive picture thread
this is my version , bought as an 0-6-0 midas you manually push through one rotation to get it to run and the knob on the dome increases the speed and the gas tank is in the roof there is a water fill in the cab. Re: Time to build a railway...but where?
i'm sorry to say this but maybe he / she drives a Pink roller and has a friend called Kevin, and it definately not Fab1.
I had a sunbathing version who ate my pond liner, so we drained the pond. I have met the one in the roller sat outside the newsagents at the bottom of the road on a break.

Re: Coaches for Roundhouse Models
The green I used is Humbrol enamel no 86 with a little thinner in the mix. It ran at the weekend in a friend's garden very smooth and doesn't need further weight, a little short with a Lady Anne but would look good with my Bertie.

Re: Boilers
a T boiler is the logical progression of a vertical boiler. it holds more water centrally and adds weight, adding traction. Logging locos have a single flue and more surface area being heated means better steam production.

Re: Peckett Body Build - First Attempt
Please don't do me for rivet counting ! The left hand side of the boiler in the cab would be the coal hopper and a small hatch to retrive coal. On top of hopper would be a wooden lid that can take a full catering tray of mince pies. The shelf was not on the cab sheet it was a shelf just over the fir...
