I think you've perfectly captured the prototype's character. :thumbleft:

Re: Gmeinder & Co loco

Well, so far it's had an initial grey primer spray, 2 coats of acrylic black spray, a coat of black acrylic brushed on, and another coat of grey primer on top! Egg on my face, then! Perhaps a sliver of aluminium foil could be positioned in the 1mm slot, above the LED, with tweezers? It's thin...

Re: Simplex Yard Shunter

12/03/24 A Deltang Rx63 receiver was removed from another loco and fitted to the Simplex, using some very small connectors. Surprisingly, (even out of sight 6 meters away) the whitemetal bonnet doesn't seem to affect the signal. The receiver (and bonnet) are held in place with blu-tac. https://i.pos...

Off-topic, but there's something very satisfying about how the track is laid out in that last photo.

Re: The Railway in the Valley of the Mill

Individually pinning each chair into place would take longer, but from what you've said, it would give the required accuracy.
I don't know the first thing about 3D printing, but I would've thought you'd be getting perfectly consistent chairs out of it.

I have to ask, but why us there an L plate on it? Very sweet resto job, not envious at all  Well, I did say this is my first car. ;) Vehicles close to 16mm scale are hard to find for reasonable money. I also have two '31 Model As in 1:18 (a ute and a Tudor, the latter of course will be pai...

Re: That Car I Keep Alluding To

01/02/23 Because of the camshaft I chose, two of the camshaft bearings in the engine block had to be pulled out and drilled for an oil hole, then pressed back into place. To do this, you need to machine an aluminium mandrel. That lump of aluminium was later used for the chimney of my boneyard Koppel...

Looks like the Ebay Madness thread could use a revival.

Your new loco is certainly a sweet little runner. Looking forward to seeing your unique spin on it.
