Great video Dave. One of the things i like about your De Wintons is the complete lack of the 'duck like waddle' that you see in so many of the model De Winton type locos. A lot of them appear to 'S' their way along the track. Yours is as straight as a die, Very interesting Alan, I don't know why th...

I'd be seriously tempted into live steam by a vertical boilered loco. What sort of running time do you get from a fill of gas and water? Good man! 18 minutes for water and top up the meths every 5 minutes or so. Unlike gas the meths can be topped up on the go. Water too, it's got a top-up valve. ...

Thanks Jim. I left the plates in for 45 minutes as per your instructions, seems to be about right. By far the most tricky bit of the whole process is ironing the transfer onto the brass. I just don't think the male of the species has a natural aptitude for it ;) If you have a bench power supply, nee...

Thanks for the kind words. I should like to add that this is very much a cheap and cheerful way of doing it. You can use proper toner transfer sheets. However they cost a lot more than inkjet paper. OHP transparency film is supposed to work as well. If you could still find it, Letraset rub down tra...

Thanks guys! The reason there aren't any fences is simply because the houses are very new. It's not permafrost in this particular spot, it's on sloping bedrock and a level area has been graded around the development using gravel. My house is an end unit of a block of four townhouses, this is why th...

Re: Laverstock Hill Light Railway
I have been working on this project since the end of last winter. Inspiration came from a visit to The Milford Hill Light Railway, thanks Alan. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okTr6CS8P5Y Godfrey Well, all can say Godfrey is, you have been busy! I can't remember how long ago it was that you came an...
