Good afternoon All, As many of you will realise, I’m not a regular member of this forum these days, but having been alerted to this thread, thought it only right to add a posting. I’ll admit that we’ve had issues with communication & delivery times as the business has grown which has caused diff...

Excellent work Brian - a well put together photo story there! Next year - possibly Berties again, possibly Millies, might even be 'Slip eccentric-Fest'...! Yes, that's the downside of the Berties, Millies etc that they are 32 or 45mm gauge & not adjustable. Maybe someone with a 45mm line could r...

Sorry guys, didn't mean for this post to become an online advert for a Roundhouse Bertie convention      It's a sad fact that some folk only post on here when they've got something to "push" (And I apologise for the continued Bungle on your thread! ) Oh de...

Wish i could get to the Bertie fest. I'd love to buy a Bertie and intend to when finance allows. Like many others i'm a bit dubious about the 'unmanly' smokebox. Maybe there's a P.O. box you can write to who will send, for a consideration, in a plain brown wrapper, a Smokebox Enlarger.  ;) I've see...

Re: Roundhouse Bertie or Accucraft Leader??

The Rounhouse Bertie and the Accucraft Leader are currently within a few pounds of each other to buy. I have a Leader and am extremly happy with it, it runs very well and I have not had any issues with it. My question is, is it worth buying a Rounhouse Bertie for the same / slightly more money? Wha...

I was there all day on the Friday, running on the 16mm scale 'Indian Hill Railway'. We had a brilliant day, i took a DHR 'B' class & a DHR 'D' class Garratt along with a train of 16 DHR vans. Both locos performed faultlessly as you'd expect from anything Roundhouse based! It was nice to hear lot...

Roundhouse & Bertie-Fest...

Yes, as has been mentioned - "Bertie-Fest" will be held at the South Arbury Railway on 22nd April.

It would be great if anyone else is having a Roundhouse themed day this year too as it's their 30th year, the more the better!

A bit of a Jessie update... Keep looking at the Essel chassis's. Just wondering if that would fit under my Jessie & how good are they. The gears look superb from the pics. Does anyone run an Essel here? Just a plan as I need thunderbird 1 back, the ex MHLR Jack is tired of doing all the thunder...

That's great to hear! I never said that there weren't any that were good runners, i just said that we hear of so many that aren't! Around £3000 is a lot of money to pay for a loco that may or may not work from the box. We do have a regular example that runs on Ttarrag Shed that performs beautifully ...

Ian Pearse is now going out to check each loco on limited editions I believe, so its clear that anything that is wrong will improve. How many times have we heard this.....?? Not one railway show passes without people coming up to Ttarrag Shed & saying "i've got an Accucraft Garratt, but th...

MTA - come & see me at Stoneleigh & i'll have plenty of cans there at the best possible price!

You need the cans with what is known as a 'EN417' fitting.
