Re: I.P engineering open wagon feedback

Thank you very useful, and your wagons look great! Did you make the frame irons?

I.P engineering open wagon feedback

Good afternoon. I’ve built a few IP kits the most recent being a GVT open coach and the quality, in my view, is ok but not great. I am wishing to build some further open wagons and wondered if anyone has built their open wagon from their freelance goods range. I know the inside doesn’t have any plan...

Signal box interior

Does anyone know who makes an interior kit for a signal box? Looking for a lever frame and I'd rather not have to scratch build.

Thanks

Great shame, my first ever kit came from them about 20 years ago. I've always thought that they are the best out there in terms of quality and service. I do hope someone can take it on, surely they must be selling the property off so maybe the tooling etc could be available separately? From a person...

British outline buildings/GRS goods shed

Hi, just wondering if anyone has built one and if so did it go together well? Built a few of these kits over the years the last being a footbridge which took a lot of work to get right.

Also, if anyone has one please may they give me the deminsions of the door opening?

Thanks

I've built a good few of their kits over the years and have a number on the go at the moment. Instructions are often very poor but the other thing to bear in mind is resin can be a pig to paint. You need to Really wash it (I use devolved dishwasher tablets) as otherwise paint won't take to it very w...

I'm currently building my railway and it will all be gauge 3 apart from a 45mm tram line, so I'm having a narrow gauge feeder line- doing things in reverse to you. Most of my stock is GRS but williams models are worth a look. You could also convert Bachman Thomas items and this could be cheaper. If ...

GRS crossing gates

Hi,

Got a pair of GRS crossing gates to build but have lost the instructions! Does anyone have a set they could scan for me or a pic of a completed set of gates?

thanks

ground signals

Morning all,

I'm sure someone used to make ground disc signals, but can't for the life of me remember who, does anyone know? Failing that I'll make some but can't think of an easy way to make a circular disc.

Thanks

Well my line is gauge 3, and I will post pics when I get a chance. It's early days and nowhere near complete! I've got a kingscale GWR 14xx on order, anything bigger won't get around my curves and telling the other half I'm spending 2.5 k on an engine is one thing but 5k..... I think it's fair to sa...

Thanks for the help, I thought there would be no firm answer but want to get it roughly right.

As you say it all depends on weathering etc. To be fair the telephone box itself won't be quite right so colour should be least of my worries ;)

I'm currently building their Wattlington station kit. Resin parts needed flattening out and I've made a few changes and ditched the over size roof tiles. Resin walls are nicely detailed but be warned they don't come with any guttering or down pipes.
