Re: Commercial Printing

Not printing, but heritage museums (in particular Blists Hill at Ironbridge and the Black Country Museum at Dudley) have forges producing cast iron items - may be worth an inquiry?

Re: Latest developments

A fine looking end result there Rik. Will you be adding a sound card? It would round it off nicely. It's also surprising how effectively a skirted locomotive hides the need for running gear. A lovely looking locomotive.

Re: Cab ride

What a wonderful video. I'm not remotely jealous of the size of the layout🤪 I think Melbourne Sparks most recently contributed to the Inspector's itinerary down under.

You've made a wonderful job of that Aaron. You should rightly be very pleased. And thanks for detailing how you have achieved the weathering, that will come in useful in the future.
I hope you have a successful first steam up👍

Re: Steam Dome / Chimney

I think this would fall under model engineering, which I can't help you with, but you can buy premade items. I'm pretty sure Roundhouse offer such parts for sale (you would need to phone them). Swift Sixteen does a steam dome.

Re: Figures or not?

I think I have to agree with Bertie - my railway isn't about realism (it is, after all a fictional Dale's railway) but more about achieving something that is my ideal. That doesn't mean I don't try for realistic weathering effects, or realistic buildings, but it does mean I am prepared to entertain ...

Re: Semi-scale BR: The Modernisation Plan

“Have I missed a post about your sound effects?” Thank you. I’m afraid the audio’s just added in the video edit. My notion of using a thumping, ‘Xtra Bass’ Bluetooth speaker kind of fizzled out with the motorblock issues (and expense). I still fancy having a go, though — perhaps after a visit to th...

Re: Semi-scale BR: The Modernisation Plan

I think your Thumper really looks the part - well done. Have I missed a post about your sound effects? Are they only added to the videos, or have you installed a sound module? If so, which one please?

A great start Peter. I don't recall seeing that background view on your railway before, have you found a new view point?

Re: Micron RC - Deltang Rx replacement MR603a

Does the firmware issue apply to all TX2 transmitters I.e. TX22? I've purchased a micron RX expecting it to work with my TX22.

Philip,
You can get quite inexpensive adaptors to connect hdmi to vga, dvi and Dell displayport which would allow use of any monitor you have.
