Re: Lady Ann will not run

You're close enough for a day trip to Roundhouse in Doncaster. I'm sure they would be able to sort the issue for you🤔

Good luck Aaron, you've given yourself a mountain of work to do! But, as Tony W (sort of) says - there is only one true gauge!

Re: Stockpiling structures

Just to echo what others have said, the lighting effect is very atmospheric. I too was wondering why you were still using grain of wheat - that picture answers that. I'm looking forward to seeing you get a railway going again Aaron - you have an eye for realistic detail.👍🏻

Re: North East Victoria Railway

That railcar is very smart, and strangely familiar - in memory, it might even have been from one of the Ladybird travel books (Peter & Susan? freeload on Dad's business trips  )

Re: Help please - if you can

Oops. Misremembered her age despite the extra couple of years suggesting a more plausible date. Glad you’ve found your answer, Rik. Though I’m now feeling sad that Jeanette, who I’d never heard of a couple of days ago, dies so young and is not around to tell her (great) grandchildren about the day ...

Re: Help please - if you can

Well done Simon,
A check of the British Newspaper archive prompted by your search suggests 1983 (she was 25, not 23). However, the publication date is 15th April 1983? :dontknow:
Next question, Mr Bennett?

Not a definitive answer, but I would say late 70's - my wife had the same hairstyle🫡

Ooooh, a Little Grey Fergie! I've always had a soft spot for them.
( Nice piccy btw :D )
Thanks Philip. It's a Hella 1:24 scale kit, and extremely fragile! If you look at it wrong the wheels fall off

Re: Constructing an Embankment

Glad you are happy with it and it does look fine, but to my mind it actually looked better yesterday with the 'dirty yellow water' showing between the gravel banks. I agree with Philip. You should be able to create some washout along the line that the creek would flow, and use sand or finer gravel ...

Re: The Railway in the Valley of the Mill

The visuals throughout your line are superb, and Simon has made excellent use of them with the photos he's taken. The picture of Dduallt gives an indication of how Tanygrisiau will mellow and become a stunning feature. Where to on the continuation though? Are we going to be seeing Blaneau station in...

Re: Roundhouse Millie - Tank Top Bunker

Locoworks do ready made ones. It's described as being for a Roundhouse Mildred. If you want to make your own, just search for 16mm loco images and you should see some generic designs. https://www.locoworks.co.uk/coal-basket-for-roundhouse-mildred?search=coal%20basket&description=true Alternatively, ...

Re: Kara,s figures

Hi Keith,
Just for future reference (you may want more of the same at some point in the future) your figures are made by Modeltown. They have an online shop, but not sure if they mail overseas.

Re: The Warren Point and Stow Railway

Ye Gods Have I really not posted anything on here since 2014 AD. Ok Cement trackbed is now well established and the trackplan has been revised a bit. My stock has really been added to in the mean time and is now very popular on the show circuit with the Hampshire area Group Modular railway 2017 Bry...

Re: Domestic oil tank leak

I realised your post was a week or so old, but thought perhaps you had postponed any action given the time of year  The soap trick I learned in the Fire Brigade, from an 'old smoke' dealing with a split diesel tank on a bus.
